Yearbook Blacks Out Kids' Eyes for Fear of Porn Potential {ParentDish}
Dec 1st 2010 9:33AM If you look I think you will find many counties across the country that do not have swings available for children to play on in the school playground. These (for some silly reason) have been found to be unsafe for years. And when was the last time you saw monkey bars on the same school playground? Identical silly reasoning behind the removal of them as well. This world is getting way too idiotic.
SmackDown: Should Kids Wear Skinny Jeans? {ParentDish}
Aug 20th 2010 2:36PM People are getting caught up in their own baggage. I read both sides of the issue and some of the comments. Amy-I disagree with you that girls should not wear "skinny" jeans. My dd is skinny so she wears them cause it's all that fits her. Thank goodness for adjustable waist pants! If your dd does not fit that model then she should not wear them. What you should be teaching your children (boys and girls) is that everyone is different. By having a different body type, we need to pick the style of clothing that best makes us look and feel good (adults and children alike). Everyone is different and so therefore everyone wears different styles. No big deal!
Parents Hate Parenting Because They're Doing it Wrong {ParentDish}
Jul 16th 2010 12:29PM I don't know what planet half of you who are posting live on. I will say this-Being a parent is complex. Being a parent is sometimes rewarding sometimes not. I will not go so far as to say its a JOY. A joy is going out shopping for the day and coming home to find that hubby and the kids got all the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, bathrooms and other chores done for you. And then decided to cook for you or take you out to eat. It takes work to train them to know how to do that! Being a parent is work and there are some who enjoy their work and some who do not (just like any other job). You do it because that's what you need to do because YOUR parents raised you correctly. THAT is the honest truth!
Kids' Movies That Are Actually for Grown-Ups {Cinematical}
Mar 26th 2010 9:58AM Many Disney/Pixar movies while quite adorable in the animation department, have a much more adult message that most children don't get. Some of my favorite animated movies of late:
Madagascar
Finding Nemo
Brother Bear
Incredibles
Monsters Inc.
Also The Last Mimzy is excellent even though it's for kids and NOT animated.
What Movie(s) Have You Walked Out Of? {Cinematical}
Mar 5th 2010 8:18AM I walked out on a few Clint Eastwood movies. They were so bad they were putting me to sleep. I even forgot the names of them they were so bad. Zoolander was awful too and I should have walked out on it. Many movies are bad but if I pay money I feel obligated. DVD's are easier and not quite as expensive. Also, it's my own house so I'm not causing a problem to others. I've NEVER switched theaters.
'Past Life' Canceled {AOL TV}
Feb 21st 2010 4:59PM I actually must have been one of the only two people to watch this show I guess. I like it. The characters are well developed and work well together. It is a believable story if you let your mind go. I also like many other shows in this realm that have not made it far (although I don't think all were on FOX). For some reason, America just isn't ready for this kind of eye-opening experience. I doubt FLash Forward will be back on either-I just saw the "boxed set" available in the Best Buy ad for this weekend. Sigh!
Mel's Comeback Falls Short of 'Avatar' - Box Office Report Jan. 29-31 {Moviefone Blog}
Feb 1st 2010 12:35PM First off this article is tupid because it compares apples to oranges. Avatar is a movie for teens with more discretionary income then brains to save it. The adults that EOD is aimed at will not go see it till it comes out on video for the opposite reason. Secondly, since I am an adult and did have a bit of money to spend this wkend I went to see it. It was good! Who cares what Mel did in his personal life 4 years ago. For that matter who cares what any PUBLIC FIGURE does on his own time. The media needs to focus less on the negative and more on the positive.
Parent groups have a cow over campaign pushing chocolate milk as 'health food' {Daily Finance}
Nov 11th 2009 8:19AM This is the most ridiculous article I have read lately. Chocolate milk will not "harm" children unless they are allergic to it. First they CAN'T go outside to play because of the "bad guys" then they can't play with their toys inside because of the lead paint on them. Now they can't even drink chocolate milk or eat breakfast cereal because of its sugar content. Children have no life these days because we have told them everything they do is bad for them. Let's give the children back their childhood and maybe this country will return to normal. Maybe its the chocolate mile that provides them their comon sense-who knows anymore.
Fox News v. Sesame Street: Beck, O'Reilly fans angry over Oscar's parody {Daily Finance}
Nov 8th 2009 6:59PM How come no one from CNN is creating uproar about THEIR parody name of GNN (Grouch News Network)? It seems people NEED to be told what to think these days AND what to be upset and not upset about.
'Southland' Sunk By Gun-Shy NBC {PopEater}
Oct 9th 2009 1:09PM To all of you who actually liked (gag) watching that show and actually (i still can't believe it) miss that show, step outside your F-NG front door and you will see the "show" right before your eyes. That show was disgusting! NBC has no good shows on right now at all. They need to bring back something with a storyline and good things that happen to people, not this shoot em up blood and guts kind of shows. CBS rocks right now!
