The Prepper Movement -- a Growing Network Preparing for the World's End {Asylum}

May 30th 2010 1:59PM My comment is directed to Pioneer Living: Is that you, Sarah? If it is, nice to catch up with you again! Tried to access your account but it said, "too many attempts"??? So, trying this method as a last resort. Will search you out again, you are truly one of the best sources for learning how our pioneer ancestors made everything! Have a great Memorial Day! L

Apr 5th 2010 12:31PM My favorite time of day is early morning when the dew is still on the grass, and I am walking around my garden with my coffee looking at all the new growth on my fruit trees and grapevines; the air is still cool, with a slight breeze, and there is a "fog" over the low-lying areas of the property. The hummingbirds and bees are out, and I am planning my day in the peace and calm!

Hot or Not: Working out in a Skirt {Shopping Articles Blog}

Apr 1st 2010 11:30PM The "trend" you are talking about is about being healthy...the more you move your body, the more you flush out the fat and toxins and the BETTER you will look at say, 80 years of age. Granted, some women are mesomorphs, and genetically gifted so that when they do work out a lot and build their physiques with symmetry in mind (think back in the 80's Rachel McLish), they can maintain a very feminine build. Other women may not have the genetics for bodybuilding or may not have mastered the strict diet/nutrient intake and supplements needed to approach this look. It does not take a professional judge to see they don't know what they are doing when contest time rolls around, and they did not diet properly, resulting in an unappealing, anorexic look. When you are a day or a few days away from contest time, and you have not paid attention to your problem areas, they become glaringly apparent, and it makes it that much harder to accept it as "attractive". Further, there are only so many genetically gifted mesomorphs out there...so many others can only hope to look like that. If you need examples of what I am talking about, send me a note. I'd dig some up for you...just for the sake of saving face for the sport. There is grace and beauty if it is done right. Then, there is always that man who want a stick woman who will fall and break her bones when she is only sixty or less because she starved herself to make men happy....I know I am gonna be rockin' at 80. LOL.

Apr 1st 2010 11:11PM One additional note...you don't have to have a "cute" outfit for every day at the gym. Mix it up a little, and build your workout wardrobe just like you do your regular wardrobe, one key piece at a time, and it helps to get them so you can mix and match them. As long at it's clean (you know the rules!) Really, no one should care how many times you wear it...if they do, they are not as fit as YOU ARE!

Apr 1st 2010 11:07PM I lived in Florida for almost twenty years, starting during the 80's when jazzercise was popular. I preferred the free-weights myself. It was acceptable to wear anything but ripped t-shirts and ripped sweats (which were also popular at that time). Women wore full leotards of spandex with shorts over them, not unlike this look. Sometimes shorts don't cover enough when you are bending, stretching and climbing up on exercise equipment, and the spandex unitards/leotards were a gift from God!! Sports attire has come a long way since then, and the little tennis "skorts" were very popular when I left Florida about six years ago. If you shop around, you can find some in the fabric you like...they don't have to be made of stiff fabric or just spandex; try some on in several different fabrics until you feel comfortable. This is a cute look, and not over the top. Again, some women want a little more than just tights and something more flattering than shorts. To each, their own. Let's not pretend we have the authority to critique someone's clothing just for entertainment...get your a** in gear and do something about YOUR physique.

Morrissey Walks Offstage After Being Hit By Drink {Spinner}

Nov 9th 2009 1:09PM I have to ask, when did this "practice" of throwing cups at performers become acceptable behavior for live shows? You would not throw a cup at a movie screen, you would not like it if someone threw a cup at you as you were walking down the street, now would you? Imagine, you are the bandmember. You are are onstage in front of x-number of people. You are sharing your talent, and you are human enough to reach out to your concert-goers and shake their hands, and some idiot decides to announce his/her presence by launching (cold?) liquid at you, which promptly hits you in the head (BAD, BAD for concentration, idiot, put yourself in his shoes). That is the problem these days. Our media has numbed our perceptions of decorum, re-inforced the false value that thick skin must be a requirement for a well-known personality, and also, people just don't have any manners at all, anymore. Well, if this level of acceptable behavior is good these days, imagine ten or twenty years down the road. We will all wear body armor and elbow anyone who offends us, immediately. BAD SCENE. I apologize for the ingrate who offended you, Morrisey. You are a great performer, and I love your work. Carry on.

Mar 1st 2009 1:58PM Germaine, get out of Florida NOW!! I spent almost twenty years there, and you are right, the employers there want the people with the MOST EXPERIENCE AND HIGHEST POSSIBLE LEVEL of education, but are unwilling to pay for it. You will be constantly subjected to scrutinization in every field you work in there, and they will work you to death. Get out, Get out, Get out. Edward Bernays is alive and well there!!!!!!!!!!!
