Jun 27th 2010 7:45PM It is safer to ask a trusted friend/neighbor to pick up your mail and newspaper daily. having retired from the Postal Service after 32 years, i can tell you that experienced criminals that steal mail, hoping for checks, gift cards, etc, do know the letter carrier's routes and just have to watch a couple of days and know who is gone because the carrier bypasses a particular home every day.

First, you have to be able to prove that the reason you weren't selected for a position or promoted, etc. was based soley on your age. To do this, you also have to be able to name a comparison employee, e.g., that the person who was selected was younger (under 40)and less qualified. If you can prove that this scenario exists, contact the EEOC to file a complaint. Keep in mind that it will be difficult to prove as employers are using their judgement as to who will best meet the needs of the company and their opinion counts. However, if the company has an established history of passing over older people, then that is a place to start.

Nope I didn't think so....Oh, I answered my own question, obviously these people are verbally bankrupt. Do they get money for winning the Grammy's? Could use some of it to get an education and learn to speak properly...wouldn't hurt to attend a few etiquette classes either.

Jan 26th 2010 5:49PM Sorry, but Walmart and Sam's is NOT the same company. Sam's is considered a stepchild of the Walmart Corp. The rules are not the same, the benefits not the same, etc. I was one of the product demonstrators whose position was eliminated Sunday. Contrary to the authors statement that full time employees were the only ones entitled to severence pay, part time employees are also eligible. The group of demos I worked with were enthusiastic, upbeat and truly enjoyed their jobs. Making money is what businesses do, period. My only regret is that there weren't more jobs open that would have been available to us so we could continue our employment with Sam's. The Sam's here was a good place to work. However, we do have the option of applying for a future position.
