Oct 30th 2012 4:27PM Helping the poor is lifting them out of poverty, not ensuring they will always be in a needy position. Helping the poor, however, starts in the schools and the neighborhoods where they grow up. Having been poor myself, I can tell you that even the poor want to work.
Oppression of the poor, however, has benefits to those in the upper class. Because the poor do not vote. They live complicated lives and every day is spent keeping the roof over their head and utilities on. Despair which is unrelenting will lead to alcohol or drug abuse because our bodies and minds can only take stress of this type for so long. Their solution is cheap and easy to find in the ghetto, drugs are cheap and the alcohol they drink is priced just right for them to have access to. How many people do you know who drink wine that costs under 2.00 or beer that is cheaper than milk?
Oppression of the poor is by design. Poverty is a weapon to silence an entire class of people who would otherwise vote on the democratic ticket - the people's party.
The poor are victims not scavengers. The scavengers are in $10,000 suits, manipulating the system and transferring wealth into their possession via deregulation and lobbying.
Follow the money. The poor people in the world are not the problem.

And for those of you who say - STAY OUT OF MY LIFE, BIG GOVERNMENT - Try living in a country without government. See who comes to your aid when you are hit with a catastrophic event. You cannot have it both ways. There are weaker people than you who have the inability to consider that a loan of this caliber can wreck havoc on them until the day they die, sending them into poverty level regardless of their hard work and devotion to trying to do things correctly.

One type hope that love with evolve, the married man will leave his wife and they will live happily other after. a 2nd type hopes to get her bills paid. a 3rd type gets sex. and a 4th type is a sexual predator whose only goal is making trouble, who uses her female anatomy as a tool to not gain in her life but to ruin another's life. I personally think a man's sex life is no one's business but his and if he is married, his wife's. As long as the job gets done, I don't care if he has sex with his parrot and I don't want to hear about it. Americans are looking for the perfect elected official - if they have sex outside their marriage, they should be stoned to death yet if they take huge campaign donations from Goldman Sachs as same takes active roll in looting America, well, that's acceptable and not worthy of headline news. crazy dysfunctional country and people within it, Hypocrites and whiners in America are getting what they deserve - Prostitutes for politicians.

Oct 27th 2009 10:35PM The reason California is heavily in debt is due to the immigrants living off the state. This state also keeps your house taxes from fluctuating due to a proposition put in place years ago which holds the tax liability on the home at the same rate as it was when purchased.
So all of you people pro Mexican immigrants coming to the states should thank Californians for carrying them on their backs while they work in the fields to provide you cheap (er) food.

Oct 11th 2009 9:54PM As the mother and father jet set around the world, the children, I am certain, are an afterthought. I wonder if TLC realized they most probably destroyed an entire family? Next we will see a lawsuit again TLC by the parents for the same. They are not newsworthy and I can't figure out who watches the show except for bored women with little else to do. I never have. I wish news shows including Showbiz Tonite would quit covering them and maybe they'd STFU and starting raising their kids with some deep felt loving tenderness rather than striking poses for the camera.

The rest of rich fat cats just counting their days (and money) until they can retire someplace where ugly Americans are rare. Sound racist? Better word would be "realistic." Latinos have a networt within this country that surpasses any comparable for white middle class americans, who are the actual descendents of the founding fathers. Oh yeah, Obama is lost without his written speech. Latinos want California and Texas back. Jews never forgot the U.S. sat on its hands for 4 years while millions were being slaughtered, refusing them entrance into the country. People don't forget that the richest country in the world wronged them. Now pitty the poor mexican who has a wife and kids on welfare, earns money under the table and lives in the 250 grand home next door. All while mowing lawns and picking grapes. Time to leave the country. Why? Patriotism is necessary for a country to thrive and patriotism comes from sacrifice of generations during war, economic downturns, catastrophic events, coming together. No, it is not whether Americans like the hispanices, the jews the blacks. It is the Hispanices and the blacks and the jews that do not like the Americans. And never will. Memories are kept alive of the injustices by their leadership whereas american leaders only feel pity for the 2nd world countries whose people cannot, will not revolt - the price one pays to have a country like the United States of America.

Indictments indeed. Follow the money. People will die because of this, they already are. The American people must the strength within themselves to except the fact that their elected officials allowed their country to be fleeced, for generations to come. It will take 15 years to pull out of this and that is a conservative figure.
