Why does Allegiant Air need two hours of my life? {Gadling}
Jan 12th 2009 11:37AM Ken,
When you book the flight, it is $15 per bag but when you check in and have extra it is $25 ... if you don't have the bag you already paid for, you don't get a discount. You can save the 'seat cost' by sitting where there is a seat for them to assign to you when you check in. You already paid for the ticket, the baggage, and all of the extras. If you don't get there in time, it doesn't seem legal for them to resell your seat .... hmmm..

Jan 12th 2009 11:31AM You flew on the flight my daughter and her husband flew, from AZ. Because it was late, as you said, it had to be detoured to Lincoln ~ instead of Omaha? She said that they told them not to leave the security area but since all of you couldn't stand in the cattled area, they gave in and let you step outside the rope. It was a horrible flight for them (they fly back to the area 4 or 5 times a year) and will not give Allegiant another try!!

Jan 12th 2009 11:26AM Wow ... Have you ever been to some of the little airports? Have you had to be at one of the little airports two hours prior to? I have flown in many large airports (international) and it takes that time to stand in line to check in baggage and to get through the security, and then the walk to the terminal. In the little airports (some are closed miliatary bases), you park, stand in line, check in baggage, go through security and it is ... 25 minutes. Okay.... That is great to pay extra to SAVE A SEAT that is going to be forfeited if I don't sit here for another 90 minutes. They charge extra for baggage, extra for actually saving a seat (if I wanted to be sure to sit next to my little child), extra for everything you can possibly imagine ... and then they are always late. Makes sense!
