Jul 27th 2009 1:05PM That is a handsome facade. It may be a bold venture but I'm certain it will pay off.

Gadling picks the world's best "second cities" {Gadling}
Jun 9th 2009 2:19PM I like it! Basically these cities are great in their own right but just got overshadowed. Kinda like an Oates to a Hall or a Pippen to a Jordan. I think traveling to these cities might even be a good idea since the "firsts" will always have the most visitors.

The hard truth of green luxury travel {Gadling}
Jun 9th 2009 1:58PM I'm really beginning to like Gadling. I've read the article about North Korea and now this. I've had some qualms about this "Green" luxury travel in the past already but what I did not know are these excellent alternatives. This "volountourism" makes sense. What's a few hours spent helping out during your vacation? I'm betting it'll make you feel good too after doing it.

Parenting Like the Obamas - Do Your Kids Do Chores? {ParentDish}
Feb 26th 2009 11:54AM There should always be a system for allotting chores to kids and tying allowances to chores is a very good idea. After all, I think none of us here would want to do work in the office just for a pat on the back from the boss right? Not really particular if the kids are smiling when they do the chores, chores and work is not supposed to be fun. What parents can do is turn it the other way around and make chores more fun. My sisters, my mom and I used to put some music on when we'd do our spring cleaning. We'd dance and sing to it while sweeping the house or packing stuff or whatever it is that we did. We'd also have our "talks about life" while washing the dishes or cooking. These are some of the activities that I really miss...

Tennis Prodigy Not Old Enough for Kindergarten {ParentDish}
Feb 26th 2009 11:11AM Wow amazing! I'm really envious of people who have an inborn knack. I do believe that she could be a prodigy but she should not be pushed into something she does not want to do. I like the attitude of the dad, he should stick to it. If she wants to please her dad or if she genuinely wants to play tennis, give her what she wants. Sports are just games after all, and games are supposed to be fun. Children like having fun so if little Mia Lines wants to go to the tennis court, her parents should take her there.

Gillian Anderson Applauds Working Moms {ParentDish}
Feb 26th 2009 10:54AM Wow, I so miss Scully and the X-Files!
I applaud moms who work without help. I really can't figure out how they do it but they DO IT! It's also quite alright to have nannies to help out, but nannies need not do everything. Children should be allowed to help with the chores, no matter how privileged they are. It is a MUST! They need to learn the virtue of work at an early age. It is a good way to wean them into this thing we call life.

Dying Girl's Last Wish - A Wedding {ParentDish}
Feb 26th 2009 10:04AM I'm not so sure that this news is wonderful, because it made me quite sad. I know it's gonna be hard not only for Jayla but also (more so even) for her parents. I hope her cancer goes away. To Jayla, all my prayers are with you and your family.
The only reason why news like this do not get attention is because most people go for sensationalized news and news networks recognize that fact.
Should Brother and Sister Share a Bedroom? {ParentDish}
Feb 26th 2009 9:45AM Sheesh, why the hell not? They are brothers and sisters, not strangers. The only thing that probably would be a problem is the mess, the boys room mess would creep onto the girl's side of the room. Besides, what is a family to do if they lack rooms? Basically, if you have money, get individual rooms. Everybody would like a private space for themselves. If you don't have the money, learn to share, it's as simple as that.
