Summer Hotspot: Baltimore, Maryland {Gadling}

Apr 12th 2012 7:50AM We went to Baltimore two summers ago and loved it!! Lots to do see and eat, friendly people and free public transportation!! (at least when we were there) One of the best surprises was the Walters Art Museum, they have a beautiful collection. We are hoping to go back there soon.

California woman arrested in nail-painting incident on Southwest flight {Gadling}

Mar 10th 2012 11:13PM I have been on flights with people who stink. They have on so much perfume or cologne that I have to breath only thru my mouth because they stink!! Nobody makes them get off the flight or wash some of it off. What's the difference.

The Doggie Diaries: At the Dog Park, Part 1 -- The Brawl {Pawnation OLD}

Mar 15th 2010 9:35AM I love dogs and I am not affraid of dogs, but... I have a freind who had a pit bull and she kept asking me when I was going to come see her new place. For some reason I was very nervous about beeing in the house with her dog. I asked her several times if she would put the dog outside and she just glossed it over saying "Oh, he's a sweetheart don't worry." So I never went to see her new place. After they had the dog for a while I thought maybe I'll go ahead....then they got another one. This pit bull was found in the street and they did not know where it came from. I thought, are you nuts. ( my friend had been bitten on the face by a Rottweiler just a few years before, and still has the scars. ) Needless to say, I was now sure that I would not go to see her new place, because she would not put the dogs outside while I was there. It is unusual for me to be nervous around dogs, but something just kept telling me the situation was not safe.
Sadly, a few months later, the dogs attacked and killed eachother in her apartment.
I know pit bull owners love their dogs, as they should. To be fair, I believe the problem here was that they had no idea where the second dog came from or how it had been treated before coming to their home.

The Doggie Diaries: At the Dog Park, Part 1 -- The Brawl {Pawnation OLD}

Mar 15th 2010 9:05AM I have been thinking of taking my dog to a dog park in our area this summer, and this type of situation is something that has crossed my mind. What would I do if another dog became aggressive with my dog, or if my dog for some reason beccame aggressive toward another? I think if a dog was activley attacking my dog I would do just what that woman did. Momma bear mode. However... if the dogs were already separated and there was no immidiate danger, walking over and punching a dog is not only wrong, it's reckless! It does appear that the pit bull was still acting agressively so maybe she was trying to stand her ground and send the dog on it's way.
In this situation, I blame the owner of the pit. He should have been more aware of what his dog could handle and what he/she could not.That is just part of being a responsible owner. It really isn't fair to the dog.

'Where the Wild Things Are': Is It for Kids? {Moviefone Blog}

Oct 14th 2009 8:59PM I love, love, loved this book when I was a kid!!!! I couldn't count how many times I read it, front to back and back to front. Of course, I also read it to my daughter. We can't wait to go see this movie. I appreciated Mr. Sendak's unguarded response...."Let the wild rumpus start!!!"

Heartbroken Mike Zimmer Helps Guide Cincinnati to 'Uplifting' Win {Fanhouse NFL Blog}

Oct 12th 2009 8:44AM I watched that game. After the victory as the team was celebrating on the field, the camera was following Mike Zimmer. For in instant he looked around and a his expression went from joy to sorrow. It broke my heart, I imagined that he must have called his wife after the games to share with her what had transpired. Often an achievement never holds as much significance as when we share it with the ones we love. Mr. Zimmer, so sorry to hear of your loss.

1. Artax, 'The Neverending Story' {Lemondrop}

Jun 12th 2009 9:13PM One movie that wasn't mentioned is 'Eight Below'. My daughter was sobbing when we watched that. She has not seen it again since. Her choice...I don't think people should hide the fact that animals and people die from kids.
