Three arrests made in connection with PSN hack {Joystiq}
Jun 10th 2011 10:58AM Anonymous never hacked Sony, and these arrests were for three local hacktivists who targeted the two main political parties' websites at election time recently.
These arrests were NOT for anything done to Sony or the PSN network outages. This entire article is based on the headline of another, which was changed after nobody cared about three smalltime nerds in Spain getting Jackbooted Upon.
If you hated yesterday's forced-wallpapering of Google Search, you weren't alone {Download Squad}
Jun 12th 2010 10:38AM That's not the point. I go to Google when I need to find something - there is zero reason to have anything that isn't the search bar, and the results. Even the doubled-up 'sidebar' crap needs to be removed, because it has always been available from the top bar anyways.
I'm glad that they're making all these changes to accomodate the fuckwits and morans of the Interbutts, but they're seriously pissing off the actual USERS that made them famous.

May 5th 2010 2:14PM Libraries also have photocopiers. The only reason they don't let you straight up copy every page of every book, is because they have to pay for the paper and the toner.
Technology Alert: The dipstick's demise is blamed on dilatory drivers {Autoblog}
Apr 27th 2010 4:32PM One thing I've noticed, in the last ten years and three vehicles I've gone through, and varying oil-changeries I've visited, that the times to change has been decreasing rapidly. When I first started driving, it was every 15K KM...then it was 12K, then 10K. I watched it go to 7500 KM between oil changes, and now I've got a sticker in my window corner saying I'll get ten bucks off if I go back before 5000KM.
Is this because my cars are getting more advanced? (They're not - Cavalier to Sebring to Caravan lol) Is the oil getting worse? Because its way more expensive now than it used to be. Or maybe, the industry is trying to make me spend more money on something I don't need! Just like they always have!
Forum Fodder: Dealer accidentally remote starts customer's Mustang right into a pond? *UPDATE {Autoblog}
Mar 28th 2010 5:06PM So many people commenting seem to think LD is a moron for having a manual tranny and a remote-starter installed. Did you guys notice the following though?
• The vehicle owner used a remote that did not have a "start" button on it.
Meaning, even if it was a remote-start system, IT COULD NOT BE USED REMOTELY. For a system like this to do something like this, the dealership would have had to have MODIFIED the installation, so it would respond to the unlock signal instead. I think they may well have done this on purpose, and the 'explanation' from the dealership rep (being so heavyhanded on 'thank god nobody was hurt' and 'think of the children, don't do this thing') corroborates this fact (to me at least). They found his setup, not unlikely being they were working on the car, and decided to MAKE an example of him.
Thank god nobody was hurt when they decided to do that, huh?

Mar 26th 2010 12:47AM Dude, Canada is a third-world country when it comes to neat stuff like this. We even got boned on the Kindle...only got it a couple months ago, and its crippled all to hell. And its not like I'm far from the border or anything....I could go in a couple directions and get to the states in about an hour.
Report: Another Prius accelerates unintentionally in New York and crashes {Autoblog Green}
Mar 14th 2010 1:39PM You really really shouldn't make comments like this. Somebody may read it and not realize you're a dumbass, and will try what you've told them to do. Death will result, unless they're in exactly the same kind of car you drive. Moron.
Prius vehicles have already had information released about how you should safely handle an incident like this; being that the cars don't particularly have shifters, your advice is pretty terrible. Besides which, a car engine at full throttle with no transmission engaged is a recipe for an exploded hood - even if it is only a fourbanger.

Mar 14th 2010 1:20PM Yet another reason to go back to the classic, no-electronics muscle cars of the sixties and seventies! When you give too much control to the system, the system is far more capable of ruining your day...and when that system is made to 'acceptable' standards by the lowest bidder, you really should be concerned. Hell, I get nervous even seeing a prius on the road nowadays...I like to think I'm a good driver, but all my skills are going to mean jack shit when somebody in a malfunctioning vehicle rams into the back of my van at a hundred miles an hour.
