Jul 15th 2010 4:20AM Oh it will be some spurious nonsense; and probably someone else's fault. After 20 odd years of buying Apple kit I have discovered that the good stuff is fine and every so often someone falls asleep and the company produces utter rubbish and your on your own.

Jul 9th 2010 6:02PM Some of the drobo network drives support Time Machine.
I had an original Time Capsule; which stopped after 18 months; which I replaced with the v2 2TB. Needless to say that the chap in the Apple Store proclaimed that they don't stop working and that something must have been spilt on it or something else must have happened.
I wasn't in much of a position to argue about it having taken it to bits to get the hard disk out.
Once this TC packs up I think I will probably get a Mac Mini Server and add a very big RAID drive.

Jun 17th 2007 2:34PM When Jobs launched the iPhone and the bluetooth headset, he said that there would be other accessories. A bluetooth gps dongle is not out of the question, perhaps integrated into google maps. There is always the outside chance that Apple may actually improve .mac and enable some sort of gps photo tagging for blogging. AGPS (assisted, by phone mast location) would be ideal, but slightly more complicated, less complicated for Apple with its arrangement with AT&T/Cingular.

Jul 22nd 2006 4:03AM About 10 years ago I used to have a Powerbook 1400 which came with a clear faceplate for the lid, enabling you to print out your own picture from a ClarisWorks template. At one point it was mooted that you would be able to buy third party accessories like solar panels but Apple had a patent for it and nobody seemed that interested.
