New Haven 'Restaurant Week' is here and now {Gadling}
Dec 4th 2008 5:12PM Restaurant week in New Haven was terrific, and by all accounts it was a terrific success. Kudos to all involved! In this tough economic climate, discounting would seem to be the survival tactic of choice for restaurants and other small businesses. Discounting is better than advertising, since at least the benefit goes directly to actual customers. But there is a limit to ho much discounting you can do, especially in a business with such challenging margins to begin with. I propose that extraordinary service is still the key to increased revenue. It requires a bit more effort than simply cutting prices, but it is a sustainable strategy for good times and bad. http://www.theCustomerServiceSolution.com
