So how well do these digital boarding passes work? {Gadling}

Dec 1st 2008 7:34AM I used my iPhone to checkin at LAX recently. The security people had a system down, although I'm not sure how well it works when things get chaotic at the security area. The person checking the boarding pass and ID saw that I had my boarding pass on the phone and yelled over to one of the guys at the metal dectectors: "This guy is clear!". Then I had to make sure I ended up at the right line where the person had yelled over to. When I got to the gate, the only potential problem I saw was that the iPhone screen was switching between portrait and landscape mode when the gate agent moved the phone around to scan it, and in landscape mode it cuts off the bar code image. Anyways it ended up scanning fine.
