Feb 27th 2010 12:51PM st.john is really nice its like the whole island was made just for hotels and beaches one on every corner, and the best part is for just $3 you can take a farey over to st. thomas and spend the day over there as well. you can also travel a couple minutes to tortola, water island and other small islands by boat as well and they are all just minutes away for a small amount of money so your money will go a long way in the USVI. jamaica of course is everyones and my number 1 pick but if your on a budget, im not sure this is a good spot. i love st. lucia, aruba, trinidad and tobago,martinique, puerto rico is just alright, and lots other islands are great as well. sorry but my least favorite was dominican republic which i went on different occassions once on a cruise. the water was NASTY there were piles and piles of garbage literally in the water as if thats where the landfill is, if anyone ever fell in that water they would probly die on first impact first from debris then from the mucky BLACKKKK water. also i couldnt enjoy it because on every corner there was someone begging me for money, and their idea of a tour are landmarks, which is fine, but not everyday. you shouldnt worry about hurricanes because the carribean gets as much hurricanes as florida does and most carribean homes are really sturdy, built from bricks and cement so youd be much safer in a storm in the carribean than in the US. i dont advise ANY TOURIST to take public transprtation on any island unless you know where your going and what time youll be back. this is the carribean would you take a taxi in the hood at night in the US? you might make it out in one peice but why take the risk of being robbed or etc. your better off paying for the rental car or establishing a relationship with a local taxi man where he would proffessionally escort you whereever you need to go mayby for a group price as well. also despite whatever month it is you should find out what local festivities the island partakes in, specially in december january etc. every island has their own big parades, small parades all year round, food fairs etc.where you can participate in as well, trust it will make your experience even more worthwhile. whatever island you do pick, it will still be an experience like none other even if its the worst^^ youve feel youve been.

Dec 15th 2009 9:07AM after reading some of these answers i will never touch another can of chicken of the sea again!!....a roach wing, flies, the fish probly ate the fly in the sea and it blah blah etc.... "sh*t happens" and you just threw it out and still ate it?!! either you people dont know the dangers of flys or yall are just nasty as hell... flys are one of the nastiest if not one of the most nastiest creatures on earth have you ever heard of the screw worm?!!!?? google it. no matter how it got there or where it came from mistakes do happen but based on some of you guys findings, it seems like this is a normal occurence with chicken of the sea. yakkk! i would not have sued but i definately would have made it known what i found!
