SkyMall Monday: Hidden Litter Box {Gadling}
Sep 7th 2009 4:32PM Ok ... it's confession time. I hate dogs! Well hate might be a bit strong, but let's just say I don't understand dogs. They are all TOO aware of my presence the minute I walk in the door, jumping up, slobbering and pawing me and attempting to ride my knee, or worse .... that big wet nose! Then they bark the whole day long and everytime you just get to sleep ...all night long. And worse yet! They pee and poop OUTDOORS and must be taken there rain, snow or sunshine several times a day instead of doing their private business indoors like a civilized human being. Yes I must scoop the box ONCE each day and have found a litter that totally banishes the odor of the cat pee and poop. The box is conveniently located under the bathroom sink, closed away out of site. We simply sawed a hole in the side of the vanity and trimmed it with molding for a nice little door. We do NOT need a fake plant to hide the box, but each to his/her own. Am I lonely? No. I have many hobbies, a wonderful job and many friends who own both cats and dogs. I don't wear sweatpants in public and my monthly treat just might be a small carton of Ben and Jerrys Chunky Monkey, but that does not make ME a chunky monkey. Oh....and my cats are named Max, Debbie, Sebastian and Sherman if that makes any difference. They meet me at the door with nice quiet meows and when I pick them up they hug my neck and love me unconditionally, just like any other real friend.
Galley Gossip: A question about why flight attendants are fat, old, grumpy, lazy and ugly {Gadling}
Feb 9th 2009 10:38AM I feel pretty certain that Big Daddy has the same opinion about nurses. He probably thinks that his nurse should weigh in at 120lbs and be drop dead georgeous when she sweetly asks him to "turn over please for your pain injection". He probably pinches her on the ass as she leaves the room too, just as he would like to FA's foreign counterparts. Thankfully, in today's world, both FA's and RN's are hired for their skills, not for what they look like or how old they are. We all work hard and have to make do with the budget cuts and reduced staffing. So Big Daddy, the next time your plane goes down in the Hudson River, or you are in the ER having a heart attack, we will be sure to remember your post here. "Oh I'm sorry Sir, but I am just too old and fat to help you today".
Instead of boycotting Utah, here's an opposite idea. If you're gay, head there in droves {Gadling}
Nov 28th 2008 5:18PM "if marriage is a solely religious institution, then the government should absolve all marriages (gay or straight) and simply institute civil unions for all couples, regardless of orientation, and leave "marriage" up to the churches."
Actually, I think that would not be a bad idea, although I do not believe all current marriages need to be absolved. Those already recognized by their state AND their church would still maintain their status as "married". Those who have chosen not to be married by a member of clergy and/or do not believe in a religious doctrine that sanctifies marriage would receive a civil status. All couples could say they are "civilized" and those who cherish the Biblical interpretation and sanctity of marriage would say they are "married". This separates the church and state and satisfies the Establishment Clause of the 1st Amendment. But then I suppose we still would need to establish whether marriage can be only between a man and a woman, as several churches are now performing gay marriage ceremonies and the aforementioned would allow them to say they are "married" which in my opinion is not an option. So I guess that puts us right back where we started, doesn't it.

Nov 26th 2008 3:02PM Gay people just don't get it. It does not matter whether they are genuine and wonderful people (which I agree many are). They are asking for "marriage" to be included in their "equal rights", which for a large number of people in Utah is against the word of God, as is the gay lifestyle. They still can have the same rights as a married couple in a civil union. Why do they have to invade the institution of "marriage" which is a religious union, sanctified by God. And don't give me that argument that heterosexuals have not done a very good job being married. True, the majority of marriages dissolve, but the rest of them, (mine included) are intact and blessed. And just because a marriage would be a "gay" marriage does not mean it would last any longer than heterosexual marriages do. It is also my opinion that either boycotting or flooding the gates of Utah would accomplish the same negative end.
