Real Life Mall Cops {AOL Jobs}
Jun 8th 2010 11:46AM Yet somehow in other countries the malls seem to manage just fine with far fewer rent-a-cops, and I've never seen an actual mini-police station inside of a mall ANYWHERE other than the United States. Of course the solution to every one of life's little problems (like someone being naked in the mall) isn't to call the police in other countries. That's why you have more prisoners than both China and Russia COMBINED, but with less than 1/6th of their total population.
Petrossian: Caviarchitect of Luxury {Luxist}
May 27th 2010 3:26AM Al Schrader - "A tiny particle lab" - ROFL! You have to have a particle accelerator
to investigate subatomic particles, idiot. By the way, 15/15 vision
also betrays your idiocy. 15/15 is ordinary normal vision, just like
20/20 is. Obviously you don't even know what those numbers mean. You
are truly 10 pounds of BS crammed into a 5 pound sack. Wow, I've seen some BAD liars before, but you take the cake.
Former 'Buffy' Actor James Marsters Is Engaged {PopEater}
May 24th 2010 3:50AM Americans are so obsessed with the age difference in relationships. Statistically your chances of failure in a marriage are lower with an age difference of at least ten years. Men mature slower, and they biologically want younger women. Want to stay young and beautiful to your husband? Marry someone older. Want to not have to worry about paying bills every month? Marry someone older who is already has money, or at least is secure in his career. Want to struggle with some guy who will cheat on you constantly, and not respect you? Marry someone your own age.
Bitter Waitress, Ashley Johnson, Fired Over Facebook Post {AOL Jobs}
May 21st 2010 10:25AM So if she had gone home and told her friends of the experience, should she also be fired? What kind of Corporatist Nazis are you idiots? She has every right to express her opinion. She should sue them for violating her First Amendment rights.
The 10 Most Sought After Government Jobs {AOL Jobs}
Apr 26th 2010 5:40AM Sure - get the hell out of the United States. There are so many better opportunities teaching English in Europe. America is for idiots these days.
Tension Tamer: Confessions of a Self-Employed Massage Therapist {AOL Jobs}
Apr 19th 2010 5:28AM Nine out of ten massage parlors are not legitimate massage. Don't believe me? Pick up a copy of your phone book yellow pages, or newspaper personals section and see for yourself. A legitimate medical massage place doesn't emphasize that their staff is young and beautiful, do they? Get a clue. Sex is where the money is at, and the small minority of ugly old hags who couldn't get laid in a prison with a handful of pardons from the governor aren't going to change that.
Four Unusual Kitchen Staples - Tip of the Day {Slashfood}
Apr 1st 2010 1:05PM While it is silly to call these things "staples", the author is trying to expand the culinary horizons of the average American, who rarely cooks anything that takes more than a few minutes of prep time. One would think that with a cable network that is devoted entirely to trying to educate Americans about how to actually cook instead of eating fast food and reheating frozen dinners in the microwave, there would be some positive comments to an article like this. Your loss.
Hitchhiker's Requiem {Gadling}
Mar 30th 2010 1:08AM The author of this story is absolutely right about not hitchhiking in America. First off, it is illegal and surefire way to get picked up by the cops, who will accuse you of something - either selling drugs, or being a prostitute, or planning on raping whoever picks you up, etc. If you DO manage to get picked up before the cops spot you, there is a very strong possibility that the person who picked you up is dangerous, because normal Americans don't trust anyone. You are managed with fear tactics. Your entertainment is mostly cops & robbers type tv shows and movies, and your news becomes fascinated with any child that's missing - even if they have to keep dragging up cases that happened a decade ago to keep you scared. You've managed to disprove the adage, "Better safe than sorry" with extreme paranoia - so naturally VERY few sane Americans will hitchhike, or pick up a hitchhiker. Other nations that aren't drowning in fear campaigns by their media (gangs, drugs, terrorists, pedophiles, etc.) still have normal lives where their fellow citizens are trusted.
A photo tour of Russia's aging wooden churches {Gadling}
Mar 18th 2010 4:52PM Nor - I'm not wrong. I have lived in six countries in Europe over the last 20 years. Where I am living right now the closest church that's actually still a church (and not converted to an office building, large home, or museum) is several kilometers away in a residential neighborhood with over a million people. In the United States you still see churches on almost every corner, especially in poor ghetto areas (almost none in Beverly Hills, though). Like it or not, churches are associated with ignorant, uneducated, poor people. In the 2009 PISA review of global academic standards, the United States was ranked #25 out of 28 nations at the high school graduate level. You beat out only Mexico, Turkey and Slovenia. As for your silly delusion about my some day meeting some deity in the clouds who's going to ask for an explanation, just think about this: YOU are an atheist, too (with only a single exception). You don't believe in ANY of the thousands of gods invented over the ages. Not in Zeus, or Apollo, or any of the African and Polynesian tribal gods, or in Buddha, or in Kali, or Krishna - the list goes on and on. You see every one of them as pure superstition and mythology. When you figure out WHY you don't believe in any of those gods, then you'll realize why others don't believe in your one exception, too. The only difference is that you were brought up to believe in that particular fiction.
Make $30 an Hour Without a Four-Year Degree {AOL Jobs}
Mar 17th 2010 1:37PM BOOP - you are basically correct, except for your blaming this on liberals. Who do you think are the CEO's of these giant corporations? Who are the billionaires? Pot smoking hippy liberals? Both political parties are equally guilty, and this game of blaming the other party is about 90% of the reason why Americans can't stand together against the tyranny of corporatism! Stop blaming your fellow Americans and look at who the REAL enemies are - the policy makers and enforcers of those policies. The media that tries to distract you with BS news stories that don't mean ANYTHING to your actual life. So what if some gang member was involved in a shooting with the cops? So what if some child is missing in Wyoming? Where is the news that ACTUALLY AFFECTS YOUR LIFE?
