The higher prices result in more sales tax revenues for the state in addition to the money aquired in the actual lawsuit. It is a win-win for the state. And a very covert way to increase the amount of sales tax you pay on an item.

May 14th 2009 9:36AM Have congress put the two trillion they "borrowed" from social security back. The reason it is broke is because congess steals the money and used it for other things. Now they want to raise social security tax and cut benefits. This will still not be enough to make social security self sufficient, since they will always steal more than what goes into it. Let's put them in charge of our healthcare too! They have done such a great job with social security we ought to let them take care of our healthcare. 50 years from now China will be teaching our grand children that the reason for the downfall of the united states was greedy capitalists, who sold their own people down the river for the benefit of the few elitists at the top.

Apr 29th 2009 6:05AM He changed parties because he could not be re-elected as a republican. He is a fair weather politician, who serves himself first and his constituents last. The only way he can realize his dream of being a lifelong career politician is to get re-elected. As a democrat, he stands a better chance of getting re-elected, since he voted for Obama's stimulus package. This will be his reason to justify Democrats voting for him. A good politician plays the middle ground so he can attract as many voters as he can. He is a politician. nothing more. Nothing less. I hope the Democrats see through his ploy, and re-elect someone who they can be sure, is actually behind their agenda, and is not perpetrating a ploy, for personal benefit... Someone who will jump sides when the other team starts to pull ahead. If he did it once (twice?) he will do it again
