Daily deal - Sandisk Sansa 1GB MP3 player for $6.99 {Gadling}

Oct 1st 2008 2:21AM I'd like to point out that this thing is a piece of crap. I bought it for $60 three or four years ago and it broke within six months through no fault of my own. But now that I think about it, $6.99 sounds like a fair price for it..

Blogging Baby Size 6: Past preconceptions I wish I could erase {ParentDish}

Jul 17th 2006 11:33AM my boyfriend keeps dropping hints about wanting to have kids lately, and i'd like to, but there are two reasons why i'm still on the fense - 1. we're both still pretty young, and even though we've been together for about eight years i'm not sure about 23 being a good age for me to accept all this responsibility, especially since i'm still getting over my drunken mournful college drop out stage, and 2) all the things you just listed in this entry. my mother worked at a day care facility on my college campus and i used to go by every week or so to help her out after classes. she had young toddlers, 16 months to 3 years, usually about ten of them. i imagine that is what hell will be like once i die.

Gene Simmons shares parenting wisdom {ParentDish}

Jul 17th 2006 11:22AM gene simmons is probably just as famous for being anti drug as he is for being a greedy schlep who liscences his band in any possible way he can (ie. kiss coffins, kiss mints, kiss bobble heads..you get the idea). so, not a joke. he was a pretty big womanizer, though.

and as for the part about marilyn manson, i don't think you should find it all too surprising that he's an intelligent, focused guy, for one reason or another artists that go the way of trying to present a 'shocking' elaborate image usually are. he's no different than david bowie or alice cooper in that way. even local bands i know of who try to put on an elaborate show and make themselves up are all pretty articulate, impressive people. i think they just all have fun toying around with the ridiculous images pop culture has presented the public with, or rebelling against it for moral purposes. unfortunately not of people understand that manson is trying to do that, and 95 percent of his fans are zombified consumer mall goths that find irony constantly flying over their heads. as well as, probably, the executives that are producing his records. if you haven't seen bowling for columbine it might be worth the rent just to see manson interviewed, he explains some of this stuff better than i can right now.
having said that i think his music is horrible, hahaha. but i do admire what he originally set out to do, and the fact that he is well spoken.
