Nov 10th 2009 10:12AM Don't forget....when you sell gold or silver you are subject to as much as 28% capital gains tax! And...there's no way the government will allow gold and silver to go through the roof...they will not allow a replacement for the U.S. dollar. They (the treasury) have the right to confiscate your gold and silver and make it illegal to buy and sell once again as they did in the 1930's. A small percentage of a total porfolio is good to have in precious metals. But look at at other commodities...usefull ones like oil and industrial metals. Investing in oil or even lead 10 years ago would have made you much more money than gold or silver. Gold is being pumped by those who have an interest in it. Enjoy the ride but don't forget to get your profit out! It is a bubble in the making!

Sep 23rd 2009 12:16PM Another comment...Anybody that does their personal banking with Bank of America is a fool. They are the most expensive fee based bank in America (maybe the world!) Try a local regional bank and you will see that the old fashioned banking experience is still alive! Leave the big banks for commercial accounts! Wake Up and research who you do business with! Take some responsibility and don't charge what you cannot afford!

Sep 23rd 2009 11:02AM A credit card should be rather a convenience card....That is, use the plastic so you don't have to keep running to the bank for cash. But...always pay it off! If you do not have the money to buy something don't buy it! The only responsible reason for carrying a balance is under temporary hard times. Otherwise everyone that carries a balance and pays interest on credit cards is simply irresponsible-that's why banks charge lots of interest! They know if you carry a balance you are irresponsible!
