Iconic Road Trips: Weaving Through West Virginia And Maryland On Interstate 68 {Gadling}

May 26th 2012 9:45PM There is nothing like riding through these mountains as with my daughter riding "two-up" on my Harley Ultra Classic. The views are just as exciting as the challange of riding the ups, downs, and highway curves, taking our time and riding safely. I would encourage all you local bikers to make this a weekend trip and visit the various overlooks and local 'stop overs' along the way.

Jewel Finds the Road to Happiness {The Boot}

Mar 11th 2010 11:51PM Jewel, I, also, have committed my past to a career in the legal environment and, without realizing it until after retireing in 2000, did not understand what I was missing. I have a friend with a Honda motorcycle that kept asking me to join him in his passion for cycling. I'm 75 yrs. old and I told him I needed a cycle like a hole in the head. I finally gave in and took a cycling safety course and made my first cycle purchase. I was totally unaware of what I had missed in life until I got on my cycle. You have described exactly my feelings and sensations that you are now enjoying. No one could understand it until they made such a lifestyle transition. Good luck and remember, the shiny side stays up.

'Wild Horses' Couldn't Drag Susan Boyle From 'Talent' {PopEater}

Sep 14th 2009 10:12PM I have to admit I was blown away the first time I heard Susan sing on 'Britians Got Talent'. That is an example of the unknown talent that would surpass many of the recongnised names in the music industry and they are just waiting to be discovered.
However, it is unfortunate there is one very, very, talented singer that passed through life at a young age in 1996 that was never admitted to that role of great singers. She died of cancer before being discovered by the world, but was only known locally around the Washington DC area. Should you want to hear an angels voice that is clear as crystal, expressive in many styles of voice music, blues, pop, religious, you name it and will bring tears to your eyes, go on line and search for EVA CASSIDY. You will find several web sites that are dedicated to her music. To bad she will never recieve her acknowledgements from the worldwide and national audiances. She tops my list of alltime vocalists and who can also play a guitar beyond her years. She will never be replaced in my heart. Look for "Somewhere over the Rainbow", "Songbird", and many others songs that are free to listen. God in heaven now listens to this angel.

Tammy Bruce Calls the First Family Trash in the White House {Blackvoices Main}

Mar 24th 2009 9:35PM Dimepiece. You have over valued your name unless that is for what you sell yourself. Yes, you are correct. Mz. MO has got class, and it is called "LOW". She has no respect for anyone except the black children/community, no culture knowledge, no foreign dignitary protocol knowledge, and most of all why was she offended by being accoused of "talking like a white girl?" That certainly would be better than listening to the unintelligent jibberish from other ethnic groups.

Wal-Mart tracks shoppers and sees gloom about the economy {WalletPop}

Oct 22nd 2008 8:55PM The "Great WAL-mart of China" is at it again. At one time their slogan was "BUY AMERICAN", claiming they would only sell American products. Well, what happened? All the American products were out sourced to foreign countries (mostly Asian and South America) where labor was cheap, profits beyond belief, and American lost their jobs. Foreign workers economy went up, incomes esculated, factories were built to handle new manfacturing, and the corrupt politicians pocketed huge bankrolls. That is where all the money you spend at the "Great WAL-mart of China" is going to, not here where our former hard work, research and development, and tax deductions that built this country. Container ships from those countries arrive at out sea ports loaded to the top of decks and then return to their countries EMPTY. These countries don't want our products and technologies as those countries have already under sold, stole our processes, and beat our brains out with CHEAP" imitations at an exorbitant price for their own pockets. Our textile, machinery, and thousands of other products set in our warehouses unsold just because the "Great WAL-mart of China" no longer desires to support the good old US of A.
What really hurts is immigrants from those same countries (whether legal or illegal) are the overwhelming partons at WAL-mart of China and don't understand the background marketing stratagies that affect our economical growth. So, we lose jobs, lose homes, lose our pride, lose our heritage, and finally sends our, as well other 'credit economy' countries into near bankruptcy as a result of greed within our own ranks to make a cheaper quick buck.
Why is Great WAL-mart of China now crying? Because they have lost sight to what they committed themselves way back when and becoming a victum themselves to making the mighty dollar at the public's expense. My heart really cries for them.

Sprint Nextel execs rank at the top of most overpaid in 2007 {BloggingStocks}

Oct 11th 2008 3:55PM Wal-Mart, for years, claimed they would only merchandise products "Made in the U.S.A.". Well, when jobs began being shipped overseas, those wonderful inexpensive products costs went up, and our income went down. So, what happened? Wal-Mart suddenly became known as 'The Great Wall (mart) of China". Try as you may, it is almost impossible to find anything in The Great Wall (mart) of China stores that is made here in the USA. It's all about the money.
