Adventures in Eating: The Other Kind of Sushi in Tokyo {Gadling}

Sep 23rd 2010 12:07PM When I was in Japan several years ago, I spent a lot of time in the Ina Valley. My hosts took me to a restaurant I can only describe as a dive. The specialty: raw horse meat. It was served ground in a bowl -- a bit like steak tartar with white rice on the side.

My hosts told me that raw horse meat is considered "country food" -- something sophisticated people in Tokyo would never eat. It seems times have changed.

Free press travel: necessary ... and certainly not an evil {Gadling}

Oct 23rd 2009 5:57PM Thank you for your great commentary. Indeed, this issue will continue to evolve and change over time. I've included a link to this post in my own statement about advertising on my blog as well: http://www.gypsysguide.com/2007/10/word-about-advertising.html

Air New Zealand turns unsold coach seats into your new bed {Gadling}

Oct 23rd 2009 5:50PM I was just on a British Airways flight this week where coach was about 75% full. I kept thinking that surely just taking out those seats and giving us all a little more room would make for happier passengers. And I'd be willing to pay a little more to not be treated like chattel. Perhaps Air NZ is on to something!

Happy Birthday Gadling! Win free premium tickets to Amsterdam on OpenSkies! {Gadling}

Oct 9th 2008 9:13PM Happy Birthday! Thanks for inviting us to contribute!

So... what would I do in Amsterdam? Well, my husband and I are big speed skating fans, and the Dutch are mad about speed skating, so I think we would indulge our passion for the sport with the fans in orange! What a fun trip that would be!

Many happy returns, Gadling!
