U.S. expresses concern over proposed Serengeti Highway {Gadling}

Jun 14th 2011 5:28AM Very sad indeed. Ever since I watched 'Serengeti shall not die' as a child a visit became part of my bucket list.

Video: Disney releases new scene from CARS 2 {Autoblog}

Apr 6th 2011 7:52AM I think the end scene was rather in recognition of Halle Berry's dive from the Cuban clinic in Die Another Day.

Rioters destroy two mummies in Egyptian Museum in Cairo {Gadling}

Jan 31st 2011 12:26PM Can't help but to think of a recent article about the Egyptian cultural watchdog roaming the world getting their artifacts back... independent of the crimes committed that brought them out of the country I'm convinced that bringing them out of Egypt was the guarantee for their survival.

Royal Caribbean still helping Haiti- a year later {Gadling}

Jan 5th 2011 1:20PM Chris,
Thanks for this article.
My wife and I were also on the Freedom end of January and in Labadee at the 26th.
It was our first cruise and we had pondered if we should leave the ship. In the end we didn't (hadn't planned any excursions anyway) and instead observed the unloading of goods for the relief effort.
Coming home we got confronted with the same disbelief from family and friends for even going there... till they saw the pictures of all the goods and the people working to get the UN trucks loaded. When we left Labadee the dock was still half filled with goods, even the trucks were leaving the whole day.

First Drive: 2011 Volkswagen Jetta gets with the (American) program {Autoblog}

Jul 21st 2010 3:25PM Yeah, sorry, should have mentioned that I was looking into the SportWagen as well.
As I haven't seen any announcement about the 2011 SportWagen I guess I have to go with a 2010 then.

First Drive: 2011 Volkswagen Jetta gets with the (American) program {Autoblog}

Jul 21st 2010 1:07PM Excellent article... but I'm still not sure what I should do.
With a family addition on the way (arriving end of November) I'm in the market for a sedan. As we currently only have 2 coupes, it has to be a 4 door.
I was always eyeing the Jetta and was excited to hear they bring out a new version which is even bigger without pusing it in Passat region.
I wanted to go with the 2.5/170hp (considered the TDI Cup Street Edition but wasn't willing to pay the premium), leatherette and heated front seats was a given and all I put in on extras was rear side curtain airbags.
Now what to do ? I have time till about October... wait for the new one ? Grab one of the last old ones (sell out offers?) ?... decisions, decisions...

What ever happened to the missing 22-year-old American teacher in Germany? {Gadling}

Dec 22nd 2009 9:56AM Jamie,

Unfortunately the worst seems to be confirmed. German daily newspaper BILD report on their online issue (http://www.bild.de/BILD/regional/frankfurt/aktuell/2009/12/22/banker-sohn-devon-hollahan/tot-im-rhein-gefunden.html ) that Devon has been found.
The police states that he washed ashore on the banks of the River Rhine in Koblenz a few days ago but they held back the information to confirm DNA first.
The river he supposed had fallen into (Main) leads into the Rhine. The distance on the river is about 80 miles.

My sympathies are with his family.
R.I.P. Devon.
