Iconic Road Trips: An Unforgettable Trip Down The West Coast {Gadling}
May 28th 2012 12:00PM I've made the drive several times over the years and always see scenery that I did not remember from other trips. I start my drive though at Puget sound in Washington State and stay as close to the ocean as I can get all the way down. The road is curvy so don't expect to make very fast time on it, but as the story implies the scenery is unbelievable. In Oregon the small towns are right at he beach and stops to wander along some of them is absolutely great. In other locations you can stop and from clifs above see expansive stretches of what looks like unexplored beaches due to the height of the clifs and what a person would have to do to reach them. When you go through Tillamook Oregon you can stop at the cheese factory or you can explore old towns that were once playgrounds of the rich and famous of a hundred years ago and preserved as they must have been back then. California is a little more modern but still enjoyable in places where time has stood still. Take your time and explore or break it up and take several vacations and thoroughly explore. It took me three two weeks vacations just to see all the lighthouses along the stretch. So much to see in America wonder why anyone would want to tavel to another country.
Crime in Mexico: Is Puerto Vallarta unsafe for travelers? {Gadling}
Mar 3rd 2012 9:23AM I and my wife and have been to Puerto Vallarta several times in the last twenty years. I have yet, when I do to not see pick-up trucks of military patrolling with automatic weapons night and day. The area mentioned in this article where the robbery occurred is about an hour out of the city in a jungle area near a tourist trap where an old movie was filmed. It is seculded and no police or military around. In the city is another story. It is busy as any city would be. It's clean and the people are friendly. Usually three things get you killed. Women, Money and spontaneous anger. There are other reasons but not the majority reason. Gang violence is spreading as the gangs try to interrupt the governments way of making money, because the Government is interrupting the drug trade. Tit for Tat and the violence is scaring people away. You only get harmed if you go in harms way.
A light sleeper's lament: six things you shouldn't do in a hotel {Gadling}
Jan 14th 2012 1:05PM Been there done that with everything said. However if your concerned about the bodily fluids thing here is a suggestion. Get a small flourescent light that you can place in your luggage and buy a Black Light Buldb for it. When it is dark it works best but if used in dim lighting and held close you can see it also. Seminal Fluid lights up as light Green under this type of light. Personally I rip off the bedspread as soon as I check in and give the blanket a once over. If I get a suggection of fluids on the bed I demand someone come and bring fresh items and make the bed again. I will not sit in a chair in any hotel without first placing a towel on the chair. Seat and Back. In some hotels I have found this fluid on curtains, walls the remote for the television and all over the furniture of the room and on the floors so beware walking around barefooted. You should also have shower shoes to wear in the showers they are not that clean either. This make your day. !! Just think you don't know if the person who left this present for you had Aids or not.
WATCH: Ornery Neighbor Scaring Off Prospective Buyers? {AOL Real Estate}
Sep 23rd 2011 3:33AM I wouldn't sue him but if I were to buy this property I would build me a PIG PEn next to the property line between his house and mine and fill it with pregnant sows. Let the crap and flies accumulate. Next I would install very bright lights to light up my PIG PEN at night and aim the lights away from my house and toward his. That's just for starters. Then when he had his loud parties I would call the local law enforcement and file charges against him for disturbing the peace. By the time I finished with him he would be selling his house, if he could.
Billy Bob Thornton's Daughter Found Guilty of Manslaughter {PopEater}
Jun 2nd 2011 6:15PM This is how innocent people get convicted. Not on reliable evidence but on unreliable speculation by over anxious prosecutors and investigators out to get a conviction no matter what. There are without a doubt other times and places in which children fell and did not receive an injury with this result. In point-When I was 16 I was carrying my baby sister on my shoulders in the hallway of our home and she fell backward onto her head on the tiled, concrete floor. The sound was sickening and it knocked her unconciousness. I yelled for help and my mother was the first one to her. My sister was out and not breathing. Mother gave her mouth to mouth and got her breathing on her own and in a few minutes she came to. A trip to the hospital and she was diagnosed with a concussion but would be all right. When she struck the floor the sound was as if a melon had burst and I thought I had killed her. I love my sister and I prayed hard for her. She fell over 6 feet to the floor. There were no lingering injuries and she was OK. The other side of this though is I know of a friend who's little sister fell in the bathtub when she was three, struck her head on the side of the tub, fractured the skull and died a couple hours later in the hospital. I know this because I was at his home when she fell and know that no one did anything to her. Her parents heard her scream and when they found her she was bleeding from her ears. An ambulance took her to the hospital. There is no telling how many more of these innocent type of injuries occur each year and all with different results. I can't speculate whether or not this woman is innocent or guilty, I was not there and did not hear what the jury heard in the testimony. I just hope the jury relied on the testimony and not of personal feelings to reach a verdict that will impact the life of not only the accused but both families forever. It would be a horrible thing to send an innocent person into the bowels of a prison for the rest of her life if she is truly innocent.
How To Make Perfect Pulled Pork: An Ideal Recipe for Serving a Crowd (and Cheap, too) {Kitchen Daily}
May 29th 2011 1:16PM I'm anxious to try this method but here is one I use in Crock Pot. You cannot believe the taste. I use Prok Loin a whole one cut into three pieces to fill 4 qt pot. Rinse meat, pat dry, sprinkle with granulated garlis, salt and fresh ground black peper. Spray large skillet with Pam cooking spray or use two tBsp olive oil heated. Brown on all sides well, darker the better. Then places in crockpot. Use half cup white wine to deglaze skilet and pour contents over meat. Put on lid and cook for 8 to 10 hours on low. Remove meat set aside for 10 mins to rest. Pour contents of crock pot through strainer and put liquid back in pot. Use two forks to shred the meat and add back to pot to soak in juices without any further heat. You can now make sandwhiches, tacos etc. Meat will keep in rfrigerator for up to a week or can be frozen. Try a taste before adding to juices you may not want additonal flavor. Goes really well with homemade salsas and can be made year around while your at work or whatever. It's ready when you get home.

Gadling's rankings of hotel breakfast buffet foods {Gadling}
May 4th 2011 4:48PM Best Buffets? Good Question. In Las Vegas it would be at the Excaliber Hotel,Amazing variety and well prepared at all three meals. In Laughlin Nevada at the Avi Indian Gaming Casino and Hotel. Great food and excellent variety, very good price. Jackson California at the Jackson Indian Casino and Hotel. A Great Chef and excellent food, it may change though because I understand they fired their Chef for unknown reason very recently. In South Lake Tahoe eat at the Forrest Room on the 18th floor of the Harrah's Casino. Especially on Friday, Seafood night you will not be disappointed, Great View of the Lake and valley also.. In Reno Nevada at the Reno Hilton Hotel and Casino, used to be the MGM Hotel and Casino years ago. In Georgia try the Shoney Restaurants for weekend brunches. Kids love Bufets because they get to chose what they eat and the deserrt Bars always attract. I'm sure thee are others I just have not been there. "YET"

McDonald's to Bump Prices, Yet Ads Wax Fifties Nostalgic {Slashfood}
Apr 23rd 2011 10:18AM Someone is not telling the truth. The President says we are in recovery. Yet polls and prices indicate we are in a deep (Recession-Depression) trouble. I took my Grandchildren to Mc D's yesterday for breakfast to a Mc Donald's that normally is crowded because it is a main stop for people heading into ski-country and Yosemite Park, where seating is a premium. There were two other people there and no one came in in the 30 minutes we were there. So either the government is lieing or everyone slept in yesterday. Raising prices is not going to get them into the restaurant.
