Feb 10th 2013 12:23PM Let's say, for example, you are financially marginal and sold some property where you hold the mortgage. That would give you an extra $550 per month to help pay your bills. What if the person called you and said he or she could not longer pay that amount? What do you do, say to them just pay what they can afford or cut the payment in half, which would place you back into financial straits?
We have more oil in our country than Saudi Arabia, but Obama still authorizes us to buy oil from them at their price. He refuses to allow the Keystone pipeline and is doing everything possible to keep gas prices high. Imagine if gas prices dropped to $1.50/gl. Our country would rebound like wildfire. I remember when gas prices skyrocketed during Reagan's administration, and people accused the oil companies of price gouging. Reagan threatened to conduct an investigation and audit of the oil companies. Gas prices returned to their previous levels. It is a big scam they are pulling on us.

Feb 10th 2013 11:57AM You are where you are because of decisions you make in life. You cannot blame anyone but yourself. Should it ever get to the point where I can no longer afford to pay my mortgage, I will first try to sell it. If not successful, I will move to an apartment or trailer house at a lesser cost per month. Millions of people in the U.S. are of the gimme society. Whether it is a house, car, boat, credit card, etc, if they cannot make the payments, they want the lender to say it's o.k., we'll just sit on your loan and whenever you can make the payments, just let us know....and don't worry.
