Seven Satisfying Series Send-Offs {AOL TV}
May 31st 2010 1:08AM You have got to kidding me. Any such list that doesn't put "Newhart" at the top (in fact, leaves it off altogether) can't be taken seriously. "Newhart" as innkeeper wakes up from a dream to find himself back in his prior TV series as a psychologist. That is nothing less than sheer genius!
Progressive Radio Network Air America Goes Under {Politics Daily}
Jan 22nd 2010 12:26PM If a tree falls in the woods and there's no one there to hear it, did it make a noise? Air America was doomed to fail, despite the best efforts of the New York Times to promote it, because it was a failed concept to begin with. When liberals control every other aspect of the news and entertainment media, there was no need for another venue for promoting liberalism. Conservatives dominate talk radio because it is an alternative to the lockstep-liberal mainstream media.
Gumby Creator Art Clokey Is Dead {PopEater}
Jan 10th 2010 10:44PM God bless Art Clokey, may he rest in peace. My fondest memory of Gumby is when he rode a firetruck's ladder all the way to the moon, where he met with the Crumpets, who lived there. LMAO!
Worst Movie Accents: Readers Pick the Accents That Made Them Cringe {Moviefone Blog}
Dec 27th 2009 11:10PM As a native New Englander, I nominate Tim Robbins' and Sean Penn's fake New England accents in "Mystic River." They weren't even remotely believable.

Bruce Springsteen Speaks Out for Gay Marriage {Spinner}
Dec 9th 2009 2:39PM Ho-hum. Who cares what Bruce Springsteen thinks about gay marriage --- or about anything else for that matter? Why do these Hollywood celebs think their opinions should carry any more weight than the average Joe or Jane on the street? They may have a soapbox by virtue of their celebrity status, but that doesn't make them right. Thirty-one states have voted on this matter, and 31 have said no. What part of NO do Springsteen and his ilk not understand?

Does ABC's New 'V' Series Have a Right-Wing Agenda? {Asylum}
Nov 9th 2009 12:34AM Let me see if I've got this straight.... the left is all agog over the possibility that some right-wing agit-prop might have been worked into a script of the new "V" series.
Hmmm ... the left has "The Daily Show," "The Colbert Report," every documentary HBO has ever aired, MSLSD ... I mean, MSDNC.... I mean, PMSNBC... , the various "Law & Order" series which regularly insert political leftism into their scripts, Bill Moyers and most of his colleagues on PBS, Katie Couric, George Stephanopoulos, Oprah --- and those are just the ones off the top of my head. If I really sat down and thought about it, I'm sure I could come up with many others.
If the writer here is concerned about political bias on TV, it isn't even a close call.
I guess a virtually monopoly on
Parents Television Council Objects to 'Gossip Girl' Threesome, But Will Anyone Listen? {Inside TV Blog}
Nov 8th 2009 11:01PM It's now been six hours since I posted, and I notice that not a single one of the "anything-goes" name-callers or "change the channelers" has dispute the indisputable ....
The columnist that prompted this debate didn't tell the rest of the story: the picture of Jesus is "weeping" because the Larry David character on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" urinated on him. That's what caused the Parents Television Council and The Catholic League to protest, more so than "Gossip Girl."
Imagine the firestorm of protest on the intolerant left if it had been a Star of David, or a Koran, or a photo of Martin Luther King or a gay rights rainbow flag that had been urinated on. The "change the channelers" and "get a lifers" would probably be right there with the lefties protesting. Christians are the ONLY group that Hollywood can ridicule without anyone getting fired.
I defy any of you "change the channelers" or "anything-goers" to cite anything even remotely comparable on TV targeting Jews, Muslims or gays for ridicule, hostility or outright hatred.
If it weren't for double standards, the left would have no standards at all.
