Controversy over Condé Nast Traveler's World Savers Awards {Gadling}
Sep 20th 2010 12:37AM A resort has a responsibility to provide clean drinking water,electric power and assure that sanitary conditions are being met in the community,if the resort is located near tribal lands. Who are these resorts employing? Is it not in their interest
to make sure these people are healthy and happy? If they can dig watering holes then they can dig a well! We as consumers of these safaris need to demand these basic services for tribal members.
Mileage runs, Flyertalk and obsessive compulsive flying: a film project {Gadling}
Oct 23rd 2009 2:47PM Every Million miler is vain,for that matter everyone who has status be it the airlines,hotels,cruises etc...always crows about their "special perks". Yes it's wonderful to have some perks that manage to get you a few more goodies but do we have to brag about it?(If you wait five minutes in a airport some one will announce their"status")Do I tune them out....Guess!
Galley Gossip: Fly Girls, a flight attendant docu-series airing soon {Gadling}
Sep 25th 2009 10:44AM Glamorous? One can hope that at some point that they would show a true picture of
FA's. How they have to deal with wage reductions,benefit cuts,unruly passengers and loss of work. I see FA's as very hard working professionals that are there to
save lives in an emergency. The true story would be wonderful!
Galley Gossip: That Day - 9/11 (plus a chance to win the book Reclaiming The Sky) {Gadling}
Sep 8th 2008 4:25PM We had planned a extended cruise from NYC when September 11 happened and were to leave Oakland for New York on Sept 13. The cruise was canceled and we were left with re -planning our trip. We decided that we would fly from Oakland to New York and onward to Cape Town. The first thing we realized was that the airport was very quiet and people were asking each other if they were afraid to fly. There was none of the chatter or noise that one associates with a busy boarding area. We all boarded Jet Blue and the flight attendants were very respectful of how upset the passengers were. The flight was also very quiet until we started our descent into JFK. The Captain came on the horn and thanked us for being so courageous! We all deplaned and every one thanked the flight attendants as well as the flight deck crew for the safe flight. I think that we all realized that FA's and the fight officers are there for our safety first,every thing else is secondary.
