Australian Billionaire To Build Titanic II {Gadling}

Apr 30th 2012 10:08AM I'll believe it when they lay the hull. This is far from the first eccentric plan to reincarnate the Titanic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replica_Titanic

Proposed national recreation area could mean vistors, revenue for Texas {Gadling}

Jan 19th 2012 9:00AM Having lived on that part of the Texas Coast for 22 years, I am curious how this area will serve as a hurricane buffer any more than it already does, which is pretty poorly. The flat topography of the region already allows storm surge to encroach several miles inland, as we saw during Hurricane Ike in 2005.

Engineers call for grounding of A380 after cracks found in wings {Gadling}

Jan 9th 2012 10:21PM Airbus' "next generation" plane (A350XWB) isn't really next generation at all, but the same generation. It will pretty much use the same modern technologies as the A380. The distinguishing factor between the A380 and the A350XWB is that the aircraft are meant for different market capacities. They compete against Boeing aircraft, not each other.

You could argue that the A350XWB is replacing the older A330 models, and you would be correct - but that bears no correlation to this article.

Virgin America names new plane after Twitter hashtag {Gadling}

Jun 23rd 2011 3:35PM Hi Libby,

Oh I wasn't placing any fault on Gadling. It was silly of Virgin America to pretend that SFO-BOS has anything historically to do with the "nerd bird." They could have just said "we wanted to make a game out of tracking our new plane via social media" and that would have been admirably sufficient.

Virgin America names new plane after Twitter hashtag {Gadling}

Jun 23rd 2011 10:45AM Travel industry people know that "nerd bird" was first coined years ago for the Austin, TX to San Jose, CA nonstop route. Both cities are home to large technology firms, and their employees routinely commuted on these flights first operated by American Airlines and then Alaska Air.

Lost & Found: Top 10 items left behind in hotel rooms {Gadling}

Feb 2nd 2011 2:45PM I left a portable DVD player at the Las Vegas Hilton in the bedside table. I realized it and called them before my flight departed the Vegas airport. They sent someone up there to retrieve it, and shipped it back to be at my expense.
