Jan 8th 2011 6:47AM The point she's making is that it's important to get past your apprehension about, "his past," and move on with making a life you share when you move into another woman's house. If you've ever had this happen, it can be sticky for the first year or two. In my case, he wouldn't admit it but he was still in love with her. It made for a very difficult relationship that ended poorly. I wound up buying the house from him (it's a neat place), then made it my own.

Sep 21st 2010 10:11PM Oh, that's nothing. I'm in my mid-forties and have worked like a dog since I was fifteen. I gave my parents a credit card "for emergencies," as money was getting a little tight for them. What did they do? They went to Vegas. By the time I figured out what was going on, I was $5K in debt. I never borrowed a nickel from them, the whole time I was growing up. They never said a word about the charges. I had to report the card stolen to cut them off, now I'm stuck paying off their, "vacations."

Jul 6th 2010 10:58AM Good article overall, some decent tips on how to recognize a culture that won't meld with you. I've gotten jobs in the past and then later find out, "oh yeah, we work through our lunches and stay until 7 pm." No mention of this in the interview process, awesome, no life. I've also seen stressed out receptionists get barked at right before my interview. I walked out. If they think it's okay to treat folks that way, I want no part of it. This wasn't a bad set of instructions for anybody looking for a job. You have to tailor it to what type of job, but good stuff just the same.
