Patriots Taking Control in AFC East {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Nov 8th 2009 6:35PM Pats are hitting stride and the Colts are vulnerable, needing a missed fg at the end to stay perfect. I'm looking forward to next week's match up which will see the Colts fall to 8-1.
Bob Sanders Reportedly Out for Season {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Nov 6th 2009 4:15PM As a die hard Pats fan, I hate to see this. He's an amazing player and one of the few players who can instantly make an entire defense a whole lot better. I want the Colts at full strength when the Pats meet them next week, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. It's become a great rivalry and I hope that in spite of injuries to both sides, it proves to be another great match up.
Brit Named Harry Potter Is Living a Magical Nightmare {Lemondrop}
Nov 1st 2009 9:54AM It's not a big deal. Lord, there are over 20 "Harold/Harry Potter"s living in Massachusetts alone.
Twenty Years Ago, One Hit Changed Two Lives Forever {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}
Oct 30th 2009 10:28AM I remember seeing this story a couple of years ago on ESPN...it was touching then and it is just as touching today.
The one remarkable thing I see in Mr. Gaines, aside from the obvious, is the fact that he did nothing to cause Chucky's injury. Mr. Gaines was the receiver and he was hit in the back by Chucky. There should be no guilt, because the only thing Gaines did was jump up to get a ball.
Once you remove guilt as a motivator, only love and compassion remain.....and that's what has fueled him for these 20 years.
Henne's Challenge: Don't Get Blown Away by Brees {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Oct 24th 2009 9:20AM Articles that pit QBs head to head make me laugh. You make it sound as if Henne and Brees will duke it out at midfield and the winner will be carried out by the other 44 non-combatants on the team.
The ONLY time Henne and Brees will face each other is after the game when they come out for butt slap or a hand shake.
Offense plays the defense.......that is the way it is and the way it shall always be.
Fantasy Football Week 7 Rankings: QB {Fanhouse Fantasy Football}
Oct 24th 2009 9:14AM I think that it's safe to say that Brady won't have a repeat of last week's performance. Not because of what he's done this year, but what he's done his entire career.
Last week, he matched his high for TDs in a game with 6....a feat he has only accomplished one other time....one other time since he came into the league in 2000. Just based on that alone, I doubt that anyone could expect a repeat performance.
However, your contention is flawed that the field conditions are not conducive to the passing game because it limits players being able to come out from their breaks.
It was snowing last week in Foxboro and the field was horrendous. Poor field conditions always favor the offense because the offense acts and the defense reacts. It's always much easier to run a planned route than it is to react to one.
Brady will still have a monster game. A repeat of last week? Hardly...but he will play higher than the 9 you placed him.
Going Down With the Ship: A Fan's Perspective of Tennessee's Titanic Crash {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Oct 20th 2009 7:34AM SFC....did you grow up in the "no-scoring Tee-ball" era? Those ridiculous leagues where "everyone's a winner"? It sounds to me like this is the case....spare feelings and delude kids into thinking life is fair and there are no losers.
Just what did the Patriots do that was "unsportsmanlike"? Pull their starting QB with over 25 minutes in the game? Replace him UNDRAFTED rookie free agent QB who had NEVER taken a snap in a real game and allow him to play as if he was in a real NFL game?
Perhaps your upset that the Patriots hit the open receivers instead of covered ones and traumatized the secondary of Tennessee? Do you think the Pats should have just ran the ball, even though they lost two of their starting running backs in the past two weeks just so they can spare the Titans feelings?
As the author clearly and objectively stated, the Patriots took the foot off the gas after 35 minutes. I have NO IDEA why anyone with an ounce of common sense would suggest any team quit playing with 45% of the game still unfinished. This score could have been 80-0 without the Pats breaking a sweat.
Listen....just because one team quit after the first quarter does not obligate the other team to do so as well.
You really need to switch sports. Go back to the no-scoring Tee-ball league where you can lie to kids and leave them ill-prepared for life in the real world.....the one that always has winners and losers.
Sorting the Sunday Pile, Week 6: Brett Favre, 40-Year-Old Game Manager {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Oct 19th 2009 7:59PM As one who was admittedly appalled that Favre came back, I have to say I'm highly impressed. His play so far this season has me thinking this one thought: Just how ridiculous would his stats be if he played his entire career in the balmy confines of a climate-controlled dome?
I think Peyton Manning would have to play til he's 50 in order to catch him....heck, he may still have to...lol
Good News Pats Haters: Tom Brady Is Going to Hell {Fanhouse Backporch}
