Richard and Rachel Lane Turn School Bus Into Energy-Efficient Home {AOL Real Estate}
Jan 9th 2013 11:31PM it's called independence. they're independent of paying anything toward the facilities that are supported by the taxes of others. they may be very pleasant people when you meet them. why shouldn't they be since they're living off others.
but pleasant or not, i'd tell them to move on if they parked outside my house. why don't they try this in a gated community? can you picture it?
Multigenerational Homes: Real Estate's Next Big Thing as More Families Share a Space {AOL Real Estate}
Nov 25th 2012 1:30PM de ja vous. we're living in the 1930's. a sort of scaled down '30's. compared to the Great Depression we have a minor league depression going on (except for those directly hit this time around). there are people chomping at the bit to take us to war again and they are relentless in their pursuit. the hawks in the nixon administration kept at it for 30 some years until they got us into iraq. now they're looking toward iran. ironically, iraq had been the buffer against iran. there will be more people interested in socialism because now they will be on the receiving end rather than the giving/griping end. more people are realizing there needs to be an end to prohibition but this time it will be about drugs different than booze.
maybe we'll once again be singing happy days are here again but that's a bit down the road.

Kevin Judd's 'Party Rock Anthem' Halloween House-Display Banned by HOA {AOL Real Estate}
Oct 25th 2012 1:18PM yes, Amy, you're right. thousands enjoy this, sitting comfortably at home and when they have enough, click! what about living across from this inconsiderate boor? the street's clogged to traffic, the noise is horrendous. people swarming over you property and, you think crowds (mobs) are courteous? imagine the mess they leave. and oh yes, when you live across the street from this noise, how do you turn it off, especially when the workaday morning comes early. i have no love for self appointed committees who rule tyrannically but this time i say hooray. someone had to do it. something i almost forgot: he says no one came to talk to him about it and yet, i hear no mention of his consulting with them before he tried it. and oh yeah, he began a profitable business as a result of the viral video.

Ori Feibush, Philadelphia Real Estate Developer, in Hot Water After Refurbishing City's Vacant Lot {AOL Real Estate}
Sep 21st 2012 1:36PM the "city" is right which is not to say this situation was properly handled. the taxpayers are liable (through suit brought against the city) should anyone be injured on the property but it seems all the city lots ought to be put up for auction the low starting bid being taxes owed on the property. who knows? Ori might be a winner with a bid of $1 above the taxes owed . . .
'Sharpie Parties' Wreak Havoc on Foreclosed Homes {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 19th 2012 3:49PM this is not to be construed that party people go free but consider the banks in all this. they brought us to this sorry state and now would like to cash in on the misery of the dispossessed. it's true that some of the foreclosed went in over their heads but suppose we leave them out of this hypothesis and concentrate on the qualified foreclosed. how about if they stay on as renters with a chance at a negotiated new mortgage meanwhile maintaining the property.

Aug 19th 2012 3:32PM think about your brand (no pun) of punishment.
these miscreants are probably tattooed with little room for more.
a free tattoo? line them up; they love it
.
their punishment? restitution for damage done, number one.
maybe some time in a small cell with some rather large companions.
much community service; the real stuff though. hospice work? disinfecting animal holding pens?
someone must have a truly appropriate "cure" for these entitled brats?
Bill McMachen of Michigan Buys Hundreds of Foreclosed Properties, Dirt Cheap {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 3rd 2012 6:22PM does it seem the county clerk or whomever is the tax collector is a tad lazy? sure, he rid the county of those properties in one fell swoop but would the county not have benefited additionally if the homes were auctioned one at a time or in small lots? was there any brother-in-law poker being played?
Homeless Man Robert Downs' Camouflaged Shack Shielded Him From Authorities for Months, Police Say {AOL Real Estate}
Jul 21st 2012 5:01PM re: vacant NYC owned properties. the homeless shelters here are a disgrace. vacant properties ought to be re-habbed by the city and either put on the market or rented out to the homeless. it might be necessary to subsidize these renters however, the plan might be a money saver in the long run, shelter families from violence or the option, living on the streets, give homeless kids a shot at stability and maintain the properties, keeping them from utter decay. btw: the neighborhood would benefit. btw: don't forget about being a money saver. btw: it's so simple it's hard to imagine the politicos have not figured it out. what's keeping you, burgermeister bloomberg?
