Ignore Washington -- keep saving; General Patton makes a point {BloggingStocks}

Feb 26th 2009 4:36PM Sorry guys, but I hate to tell you this. Rich people are set to make losses if we responsible people are not given the shaft in the form of paying for the irresponsibility of others, or inflation eat every little time you have saved up. You know that rich people cannot be allowed to make losses.

What should happen, if all the blowhards that touted capitalizm for all these years actually believed what they said, is all the houses should go into foreclosure if they cannot be paid for and those who are smart and responsible will buy them up or they could be re-bought by the people that could not afford them at the inflated prices. The problem with that, you ask. Rich people would take all the losses when the $500,000 house they are invested in is really only worth about $180,000; and we can't have that, can we!

Hedge your savings against inflation. What the USA owes is unpayable and the baby boomers are sure as heck not going to change their singleminded, selfish attitude and realize they need to pay for the expenses they incurred.

Target (TGT) profit sinks on credit-card woes {BloggingStocks}

Feb 24th 2009 12:41PM I have been noticing some strange developments at Target for a while now. For about the last two, three months Target stores seem to have been having issues with keeping stock on hand and lowing minimum stock.

The revenue collapse could also be related to people finally noticing that their claim to "expect more, pay less" does not translate to low prices. Only rarely are their items priced lower than most of their competitors. Their only edge... the variety and uniqueness of their offering is wider than all other mainstream big boxes. Will that help them through the future... No!

Southwest Airlines spices up a 7-3-7 with a bit of 34-24-35 {Gadling}

Feb 12th 2009 3:23PM So, who is this supposed to convince of flying with SouthWest?

Considering the current economic situation - even though this was true before - you fly with SouthWest because it is a cheap flight if they fly to where you want to go..... The End

If you look past the loud mouthed people, most will pick the cheap flight as long as you are not treated horribly just to fly on a plane that will give you a disease.... as it is with American.

I don't see this as anything more than executives wanting to schmooze with the good looking woman. They had to convince her that they were worthy of her attention somehow; and not just sleazy creeps.

It wouldn't even surprise me that SouthWest paid her to have a chance to promote her career.

Feb 12th 2009 10:17AM So you "command" from some sorts of sidelines? Or are you supposed to take your external fuel tanks into battle -- FAIL

On the other hand, maybe we can sink some more of that bailout money into these things so we can most properly run the US economy into the ground.

LMAO

Don't look for both justice and success in the bank bailout plan {BloggingStocks}

Justice didn't come when things were looking rosy and now you don't want justice to come when it counts the most? The harm that would come through justice is the harm to rich people's wealth that comes from accountability for their dumb excesses. Harm to the rich and powerful would improve this country over long-run when accountability is restored. What is going to happen though is that rich people's wealth will be restored at the eventual disproportionate expense of the middle and lower classes.

Justice has never come in this country anyways! I am talking about real justice, where every working person is afforded a living wage and a respectable living; where taking care of health care needs does not destroy your livelihood and cause stress and depression in people who just want a simple life and have a fighting chance. Where petty theft is not punished harsher than destroying thousands and millions of people’s life-savings. Where pushing money and paperwork around in vaporous and fragile schemes is not rewarded with billions of dollars in siphoned off wealth that is not value earned but simply a scalable scheme. Where corporations and foreign interest groups don’t control our government and have more power than the American citizen. Where immigration, civil, and penal laws are upheld; no matter whether it benefits the rich or corporations not to. Where every person is afforded the equal opportunity, not just the affluent middle class and above. And on, and on!

This country was founded on injustice and perpetuates injustice. It is rather pathetic of anyone not to see this!

I ask you; when will justice come if it does not come now? Of course it is better here than in many other countries, but less bad does not mean success!

Former FCC Chair sets Comcast probe into motion on his way out {Engadget}

Jan 21st 2009 3:34PM What is wrong with the FCC going after Comcast; other than that they are a friggin' monopoly and do nothing but pass their fines on down to me and you.

How about personally fining the CEO by yanking his colden paracute? Anything else is just fighting shadows.
