Controversial Vaccine Required for New Americans {Lemondrop}
Oct 12th 2008 6:12PM Would it be different if we told anyone that they needed a vaccine for, say, Hepatitis? We have vaccines ready for very dangerous viruses, and many are mandatory (for a reason).
I don't see the logic that some people have, it's a disease! The vaccine is like every other vaccine, people should get it in order to protect themselves from HPV (which is a virus).
If this was for HIV, would it make a difference? Both HPV and HIV can lead to life-threatening conditions and they both are transferred via sexual contact and bodily fluids (not sure about HPV and bodily fluids).
HPV also has a high infection rate, according to this article:
"Still, with at least half of sexually active men and women acquiring genital HPV infection at some point in their lives, the drug may help curb the disease."
That being said, it should be important for everyone to get the vaccine, the government wants it mandated so that it can be effectively administered!
I also think that it should be extensively researched (with the results) and if it can be improved, it should be. It may not also be a bad idea to lower the expenses for the vaccination to those who are immigrating to the United States.

Aug 5th 2008 4:59PM Why not avoid the situation by innovating the design of the planes? So, you could have 1.) more passenger seating, 2.) more comfortable experience and 3.) a sleek newly designed aerodynamic plane.
I'm not saying to literally replace ALL the planes, it's just an idea...
Just increase the space on the planes, change the alloys, and innovate it's (its?) design and maximum cargo/passenger occupancy...And everything goes well!
