Apr 8th 2010 10:51AM The US does in fact charge for SAR teams sent out. Recently a young man in the west just simpley dissapeared, they sent out SAR and unfortunately found him dead, and the family while dealing with the loss, funeral and such received a bill for $30,000.00 the cost of the SAR effort.

Mar 13th 2010 11:11AM We have been trying for over 2 years to work with Wells Fargo Financial. No modification program with them! What they wanted to do was reduce our $1899.00 payment by $400 and adding that difference (400 x 12) at the back end of the 1 year "modification" along with late fees and penalties (?). We are not irresponsible home owners and have paid early every month on our 5 year loan-but due to medical issues beyond our control it has left us trying to find a solution to a home that is now $100k upside down...this whole "modification" nonsense is just that-NONSENSE. Wouldn't it make more sense in this economy to allow people to keep their homes rather than to keep flooding the market with foreclosures?

Nov 30th 2009 12:36PM Yes there are people who took out loans on homes they could not afford, and they need to be responsible for that. But there are decent hard working people who run into some very difficult times that have tried everything to hold onto their homes. For us we did not buy a home we could not afford, however when a major catastrophe happens, like medical-and a job loss occurs, and savings are used up what are you to do? The bank was not willing to work with us for a permanent solution. There 'modification' was for 12 months and the differenc of the payment being added on the back end of the loan..HOW IS THIS HELPFUL? It wasn't to us, but they sure stood to make a killing on this whole deal-either way. This whole situation, the whole world is where it is because of greed. Doesn't matter what political affiliation - there is greed on every side. The banks are not helping the people who need it, they are only helping themselves..

IF YOU WANT TO KNOW GO TO THE SOURCE, at least then you will be educated when you know what it is you are talking about....
