Nov 23rd 2011 7:19PM Why when the person approached the check in desk, that they did not make sure that the person who is OVERWEIGHT, and that can be determined by looking up and over the counter. Then right then, is when they should have checked to see what seat that they were to assign that person. 3rd no one should have been given any seat on either side of that person. Just mark those seats off as occupied. THen when they go to take off, there would have been extra seats for the addtional people who would have been also as inconvenienced. Just DUMB all round on the part of hte TICKET AGENTs and the DUMB flight attendants to NOT being sure that every one could be in their seats for take off and be comforable for the entire FLIGHT.
What in the world would have happened had their experienced a SUDDEN DROP of altitude, and what would have happened to not only the overweight person, but also those NEAR him. I was on a flight from Dallas to Melbourne, and I did not have my seat belt on. I was suspended in air for almost 2 to 3 seconds, then "PLOOP" down I went and not into my seat, but onto the arm rest. HURT A BUNCH, The flight attendants DID NOTHING about checking to be sure I was okay. Thank GOD I did have my son in my arms when that happened. We both would have been injured. Some one dropped the ball on these two men. The over weight one. And the man who had to stand up the entire flight.
Just ridiculous. Again, we are turning out more ignorant and oblivious people from schools these days.

Sep 22nd 2010 1:36AM what is going on these days. My Gosh, another child the same thing happened, only this time, the QB survived. Says he was rushed to the hospital and had surgery, and he was back on the field a couple days later.
I did not catch exactly where this was, if it was in the Portland, Oregon area or where exactly?
Some thing has to be done about how the schools and the coaches should take more responsibility towards the health of these athletes. Monitor them more closely.

And the fellow who plays the father of Kyra SEDGWICK also play the father to the fellow who used to get Tomorrow's newspaper every morning, and he would go off and help people?

I agree, wish they might have highlighted the young lady, Native American, "Marilyn" as well. She was the most interesting character to me, too. Also Ruth Anne was a very pivotal character on the program.
I enjoyed each and every viewing, each time it ran in Re Runs, as well. Wish I could have been able to purchase the entire set of each season. There is nothing today, worth watching, a second time. It is either all blood and guts and or too sexual in nature for my taste. Other than that, there is nothing else on the prime time, or other any time of the day, but PAID PROGRAMMING and I am not interested in male impotence, nor what product I should use to enhance my sexual prow ess. Sorry, check spell does not work on my computer. I am at a point in time now, where I will CANCEL my TV subscription to cable TV, other than for just the basic use. The decline of this CIVILIZATION as I knew it, has already happened. The Mayan Calender has already come to pass. The 2012 date in December, will only be a anti climax to the end event.

Jul 16th 2010 7:03PM These houses that are so HUGE in scope and acreage, square feet, etc, why not use them for GOOD instead of another LAVISH DRUNKEN DRUG PARTIES, etc of the RICH and EXTREMELY CONSCIENCE LACKING.
Lets see the STATE take them and or the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and turn them into
Senior Citizen HOUSING or low income housing, rent them room by room, instead.
And or get they THOUSANDS, MILLIONS of HOMELESS off the street and out from under the BRIDGES all over this country, and into a place that could re habilitate them, and or get them the MENTAL HEALTH HELP that they all seem to need.
Why do we continue to allow all these HOMELESS PEOPLE TO SUFFER in the Elements,
WHERE IS ANY ONE's conscience???
If I were of a family that had so much money, that did not have any better sense, I would really think that all that money down the Toi Toi could
be now better made of use.
I agree with other reply person, now you know where all the money went from the company that you invested in, and thought it was going to give you a great rate of return.
No wonder our economy is in such DIRE STRAITS, and getting worse by the day.
Another acquaintance is having his house sold at auction on the 30th of September, They are going to go live in a barn, because they now no longer have a job, nor any place to live.
I fear for their safety, health and sanity come winter.

Stores shevles emptied quicker than you could say, Jack Sprat.
My parents and I had to go to at least 5 stores just to get a half dozen cans of chili, beans, corn, peas, and a couple packages of bolonga. NO BREAD. NO MILK. Was no water in those days. GASOLINE stations went dry in hours. All it takes is one report of a small crisis, and this country, goes nuts. That was THEN, yes, BUT. . . . . . . . .
It will be even worse today. The population has increased. The UNEMPLOYMENT numbers are double digits. The mentality of this country has dropped as well. Consider the number of high school graduates of today to 1960. Tells a lot. Being prepared is NOT A BAD THING. IT IS AN EXCELLENT PLAN. START NOW. If Nothing Happens, WONDERFUL. IF it does, at least your family will have food and water to last as long as it takes. YES, experience has shown that the government, any branch of it, IS NOT going to be of any assistance to any of us, in the short term. Just remember your parents did not RAISE STUPID CHILDREN, the government has made us so.

May 24th 2010 3:34PM This is just what I have been saying all along. This country has let itself be talked into the mentality of, "I can do any thing I want to do". I can break all the rules. It means nothing to me at all. I, AM THE MOST IMPORTANT! SEE ME". It makes me want to 'barf' from the way this country has sunk to its lowest level. We have advertisment on the TV and all the media, newspapers, magazines, etc, of CONDOMS, MEN's Pos Ti VAC, because "I" am IMPOTENT, I WANT EVERY ONE TO KNOW IT. IT IS ALL IN OUR FACE now.
You ask as you walk into the ruins of some ancient civilization, and the question comes to mind, "What caused their downfall?" I can tell you, it is the lack of morals, the lack of RULES, the lack of respect, the lack of everything that began it in the first place. This country was founded on good sound "Christian Values". When it is all over, but the burying of the bodies, you can say, I HAVE THE ANSWER. There will be no one left to even bury the body. It will all just fall apart, like the jungle, and it will be over grown by the dust and the leaves, and the trees and their roots will all that is left holding up the buildings.
