Boingo introduces Blackberry connection app and $7.95 global Wi-Fi plan {Gadling}
Nov 1st 2009 8:59PM I have to give this app a 4/10. I tried it, and it's definitely convenient and it works well, but it slows down my blackberry a lot when it's in use. And it's ALWAYS in use! Even when you turn off the Wifi function, the Boingo app runs in the background, with no way to close or exit the app.

Sep 19th 2009 12:59PM It's nice that you told us how much you (think you) saved, but how about how much you spent?
I think you've managed to convince all and sundry that an off-season vacation is cheaper than an in-season vacation, but readers trying to budget would probably be more interested in a ballpark total cost, not a ballpark total savings.

iTunes 9 revealed {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 9th 2009 3:58PM From the iTunes requirements:
"2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or faster processor is required to play HD video, an iTunes LP, or iTunes Extras from the iTunes Store"
Does this mean I can't play iTunes HD, LP or Extras content on my first gen macbook? I know it's three years old, but I'm a little disappointing that they're starting to obsolete it already... Especially because it has no trouble playing HD content!

Sep 4th 2009 6:22PM By far, check your tire pressure.
Easiest way to keep your fuel economy up is to maintain proper tire pressure, because it drops over time and with newer tires are harder to eyeball to make sure they're at the right pressure. Every 1PSI your tires are underinflated, you lose between .5 and 1% of fuel economy.
Work at a winery in New Zealand {Gadling}
Aug 31st 2009 9:28PM You don't just need a tax identification number (known in NZ as an IRD). You also need a work permit if you plan to earn money in NZ as a foreign national.
NZ has a fairly liberal "working holiday" program which is a combination tourist and work visa. But you have to apply for it before you arrive.
If you show up as a tourist and are admitted to the country under a visa-waiver, you'll violate their immigration laws by taking any paid employment.

Aug 29th 2009 11:29AM I think the Colosseum is delightful.
It's a little pricey, and a little crowded and the lines can be ridiculous, but it's well located in central Rome and you can avoid the lines by buying a combination ticket at the Palatine hill nearby.
