Minor League Hockey Coach Protests Call By Littering Ice With Equipment {Fanhouse NHL Blog}
Nov 13th 2009 11:10AM I have seen worse things in hockey go unpunished, and in sports in general. But the weakest excuse for suspending a coach was when Jim Schoenfeld called Don Koharski a fat pig and told him to go eat a doughnut! He didn't even swear and he was suspended and fined! Big question, why is the high school girls' soccer coach not suspended, fined, fired and arrested for supporting that player that is an out and out thug on the field? Her comments during TV interviews were simply that it is a rough sport and these things happen. Obviously she approves of her player mauling other decent athletes! Sports in general are getting way to vicious. They are more reminiscent of gladiator matches than athletic events.
Greed Reigns With NFL's Blackout Policy {Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti}
Sep 2nd 2009 5:17PM Like Eva marie, I too live in the Buffalo area and I would like to add one thing - I have been to Jacksonville and they have a lot of military and defense operations there so the economy of that area is NOT as bad as they would have you believe. Let them come to the rust belt. They are only complaining because they overpaid for real estate all over Florida and now they have had reality thrust upon them. We see our games in Buffalo, even though times are tough - and that applies to the NHL Sabres, too, whose games, incidently, are on TV regardless of attendance, which, fortunately for our team, is pretty darn great!
Company patents electrical shock device to be used for aviation security {Gadling}
Jul 9th 2008 10:07AM I would like to know what this does to an elderly passenger with a heart problem or someone with a pace maker. Sounds to me like it would be fatal! I do not believe it has anything to do with security, but rather big brother watching the every move of ordinary citizens.
