Travel Agent scams thousands by selling fake vouchers {Gadling}
Feb 17th 2011 10:56AM Dom's comment is just dumb. Most travel agents are reputable. When you are online, you are just dealing with a travel agent who you don't know, can't visit, and may not even be real. Most just have a call center somewhere out there (as opposed to HERE). It is just as they said, If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. You get what you pay for. Nobody gets anything for nothing. Do you need any more? Greed draws people into getting fleeced.
The Terrible Towel Is Terribly Stupid {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jan 26th 2011 9:47PM I commented earlier that the story is a waste of space and the author clearly has nothing better to write about (which with a super bowl coming up, I would think that is a sign of laziness and incompetence). I want to let it be known, too, that I want Pittsburgh to lose the superbowl, but let the fans enjoy waving their towels and cheering for their favorite team. I repeat, GET A LIFE and while you are at it, get another career, because you are failing miserably at this one if this is your idea of being a sports writer.
The Terrible Towel Is Terribly Stupid {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jan 26th 2011 9:41PM Is this all you have to worry about? Let the people have some fun. I can not believe an entire page devoted to trashing a little football gadget that shows up well when an entire stadium full of people wave them. What next, the cheese head hat, the hog snouts, pom poms? Get a life. I hope you didn't get paid for writing that!
Are Cruise Ship Auctions a Rip Off? {AOL Travel News}
Jun 12th 2010 9:56AM Cruises are great, but just as with anything, don't leave your common sense at home. It seems most of the people took advantage of the free drinks and the drinks help take advantage of them. You don't have to spend an additional dime on a cruise ship if you don't want to. people who offer all the complaints about cruising probably just can't afford to go on one and enjoy their lives! And the rest, probably get taken advantage of on land, too. Set limits and stick with them when it comes to your wallet.
Princess Cruises Launches Sale on 2010 Voyages {AOL Travel News}
Apr 21st 2010 10:49PM The "headline" for this story is misleading. Princess is NOT a luxury cruise line and it does not hold itself out as a luxury cruise line. It is owned by Carnival Corp which touts Seabourn as its luxury line. A travel reporter should know that very basic information. For shame!
NCL to Offer "Power Hour" of Savings Before Fare Hike {AOL Travel News}
Mar 30th 2010 9:32PM what in the heck does being retired from the military have to do with a fare hike for Norwegian Cruise LIne? Besides, your post sounds like a crock to anyone who can think. First, you don't retire rich from the military and second, you aren't considered retired after 1 year - isn't it 20 before you are considered career and entitled to a pension? And you don't collect at 27. Just another con man selling his wares in the wrong forum
OK, NCL is selling and that is a good thing since there needs to be more competition in the cruise industry. Carnival owns, Carnival, Princess, Costa, Holland Ameirca, Seabourne and Windstar. Royal Caribbean owns Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara. Not too much out there in the mass market business. Also, NCL does have a ship that is US registered so they pay some US taxes. Hope they continue to sell!
Please Tip Your Waiter! {AOL Jobs}
Mar 18th 2010 3:47PM Do you know any poor restaurant owners? I don't! They are the real problem and the government supports them but giving them a lower minimum wage to pay their employees. I pay a fair price for a meal when I eat out and that should be the end of it. If I find excellent services, a tip should be at my discretion and in an amount that I feel is proper. It should not be dictated. So now the services industry is apparently telling me how much I like my service, regardless of how I think I like it!
NHL's Latest Cheapshot: James Wisniewski Headhunts Brent Seabrook {Fanhouse NHL Blog}
Mar 18th 2010 10:07AM Many think hockey wouldn't be interesting without hitting. Yes, hitting CLEAN hitting is part of the game. But there needs to be a line drawn when it is a deliberate intent to injure another teams good players. Ovechkin should be banned for life for all of his dirty hits on opponents and then a lot of nameless goons should be banned as well. I am a die-hard hockey fan and have been for over 40 years. I won't watch if I don't see the stars that can play the GAME - Kane, Crosby, Miller, etc. If they want to play that way, there is always that cage fighting nonsense to accommodate them. What if someone would have crippled Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky etc? Where would the game be today? It would be nowhere! The Olympics were exciting even though there was no fighting. I even found the women's gold medal match exciting without the rough stuff. Let's put the hockey skills back into hockey and leave the violence to extreme fighting on the redneck channels.
Video: Alexander Semin Goes Down In Shootout Attempt {Fanhouse NHL Blog}
Mar 10th 2010 10:04AM OK, I have heard this on a couple of nationally televised games now and at first I thought it to be just an error, but now it is here, again, in the clip and it is getting annoying. Hockey skates do not have toe picks. They are a feature only found on figure skates due to the jumps. I wish the NHL would find announcers that know the sport to call the nationally televised games. (And I mean that loosely since these guys don't actually call much of the games, they are story tellers. Would be nice to know who has the puck, who gets penalized, etc.) Wake up NHL, NBC and Versus!
Tebow to Fans: Show Me the Money {Fanhouse NCAA Football Blog}
Mar 7th 2010 9:49AM OK, so Tebow, someone who hasn't even been drafted by an NFL team yet, no less proven himself in the big leagues, thinks his autograph is worth $160. My question is why would anyone in his right mind pay for it? Not me in a thousand years. And no, I don't think it is a "Christian" thing to do. He should be visiting poor kids and inspiring them to persevere, not setting the example of greed to kids all over the country. 2 thumbs down Tebow.
