Jan 5th 2011 9:35PM John seems to be a down to Earth guy who happened to be talented enough to be a success and understands how hard everyday hardworking people have it and therefore sings about it. I love his music and I'm not a music lover. Meg is the girl next door and who couldn't love this baby girl. I think they are a great pair and not too hung up on themselves and I wish them joy and happiness.

Dec 14th 2010 11:57PM Just curious. Why does anyone contract with DirecTV when Dish seems so much better in all facets that I can see? Perhaps I'm missing our on promos DirectTV is offering, etc... I simply want to know since my Mother is a DirecTV subscriber and she only watches basic channels and I think she would better off switching to DishTV. Any help appreciated as I'm thinking of switching her to Dish due to the price and basic channels she watches. Thanks.

Dec 21st 2009 10:27PM OOPS didn't even realize I was taking up for a "black" man and not simply a "man" until I backspaced. Since I'm a white guy, should I even be on here with this being Black Voices (do I have a voice here)? When is this US VS THEM crap gonna end? I'm not perfect like anyone else but I hope anyone who has half a brain will realize we all have to get along as humans to make this a better world. If you are a good person then I like you and if you aren't I don't. PERIOD. What's hard about that?

Dec 21st 2009 10:17PM I love Sinbad and in fact he just appeared at the Choctaw Casino in Ok which I was fortunate enough to attend. Give him credit for at least trying to pay his own way and not dodging his debts (aka Nicholas Cage) regardless of what the bloggers here think. He's a former brother in arms to me since he is a former Air Force guy like myself and I can't even imagine (since I have no talent) achieveing the success he has. His routine tells what growing up was like in a very funny way without profanity and exactly the way it was for me as a youth (yep I'm a white guy so all you idiots who think race if a factor grow up, it's just melanin in the skin for gosh sake like eye color). I know he was taught the same morales and disclipine as myself in the service and is honestly trying to simply make a living for himself and his family. I wish I could be in debt this much because it simply would mean I earned much more than I owe and will hopefully settle for much less (since we are already overtaxed as it is) and still never have to work a "normal" job. Get a good tax attorney and remember Sinbad, tax avoidance is legal but tax evasion is not so I say Go on with your bad self Sinbad my friend and can't wait to see you again.

Dec 21st 2009 9:53PM "and we don't mean to pile on" as quoted in this article. What a load of bull. Leave the guy alone and find some real world event if you want to claim to be real journalists. This crap is only fitting for the tabloids and barely then. Who among us men hasn't been to Hooters for good food and a lovely view? I think golf is a stupid hobby (no it's not a sport) and definitely aren't a fan of any particular golfer but feel for the guy since his personal life is his own and affects nobody other than him and his family. Butt out you so called journalists and find a real story if you even know what that is.

I am very impressed with your wisdom and manner in getting your point across (there are so many mean people on blogs (yet in real life we both know they would hide their "true colors" and not have the courage of their convictions if they were made to say these mean things face to face) it's really nice to see someone who actually reasons their answer before typing an impulse thought). I totally agree with you and it has nothing to do with the "race" issue. I could care less about the color of someones skin (my god it just happens to be an organ after all and nobody judges me on the color of my kidney LOL). It has to do with intelligence, thoughtfulness, caring and a persons character. You seem to have all of the above and I'm honestly awed by your entry. Wishing you the best and thank you for your intelligent reasoning. Bet you never thought a southern white boy would agree with you. I had to throw that in just to make you smile. LOL

Oct 3rd 2008 9:33PM Mr. Whitaker (and I say this with the utmost respect), I am a common everyday hardworking white american male who on ocassion (to my shame) make racial comments the same as blacks make comments about whites. I don't know why and there is no excuse for it. I simply want to say white or black, you seem to be the epitomy of class and always seem to take the high road. Because of gentlemen like yourself I am trying to change my views and watch my comments. I believe Robert Duvall and yourself are two of the greatest actors alive and know you will rise above this ignorance (myself included) and continue to show the world what true talent is. Best of Luck from a "redneck" struggling with the racial issues of our time and seeing men like yourself in their true light through their wonderful sense of taste and elegance. I would be proud to call you a friend and offended by what has been done to you.

I don't know what type of difficulties you have faced to bring you to this point (though I'm glad to see you are working through them), I just wanted to quickly say I think you have an awesome voice and that I respect you. Why do I respect you. I saw on some TV show where when the record producers approached you to sign you and you told them you could just as easily continue playing the clubs and stay around your home area and just as content and that you wouldn't change one bit to be a "star". They either had to respect this or go away. You didn't let the possibility of money and fame keep you from being you. Simply put, that deserves alot of respect. Good luck and looking forward to purchasing your new album as I am a huge country fan. Keep it real dude!
