Is This 'Single Ladies' Video Too Hot for Tots? {ParentDish}
May 13th 2010 3:06PM Meanwhile there are like six versions of this on youtube. Seems like something to be flagged as inappropriate, but I guess if the parents don't mind thousands of creeps watching their little girls grind, it must be okay.... right?
Is This 'Single Ladies' Video Too Hot for Tots? {ParentDish}
May 13th 2010 2:57PM I agree with Brian. If this is typical of what's being presented at this competition, then the instructors, the parents and the organizers should all be up for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and child endangerment. They are CHILDREN -- not miniature adults and not pets or puppets that can be taught to do tricks. Sexualizing children is perverse and damaging. Many of these girls have also gotten a whopping headstart on screwed up understanding of what defines beautiful as a female. I'm hoping the adults involved are taking a major PR beating.
NBC's Relentless 'Parenthood' Promos: So Many, So Not Good {Inside TV Blog}
Feb 24th 2010 2:25PM Has the epidemic of complaining, negativity and opinionated self absorbtion really gotten so bad that you could decide that something new is guaranteed to be awful before you've even really seen it?
Senate Passes Sweeping Health Care Reform, but Trouble Lies Ahead {Politics Daily}
Dec 24th 2009 11:33AM Hopefully you understand that this isn't done until the House and Senate bills are merged and that work begins in the coming month. Just the fact that the Christmas eve vote was, according to the story, the first on record in nearly 100 years and that they've been working through weekends and late nights IS change. Seems like media-induced panic is causing many to read "news" stories selectively and forget to do their own research (NOT on Fox news sites or opinion blogs) to dig through the spin, positive or negative.
Kansas Schools Ban Hooded Sweatshirts {ParentDish}
Sep 29th 2009 7:26AM Rich and Nina: Somebody say AMEN! The only argument I've ever heard is "Columbine" to explain why it would suddenly be unconstitutional to send a kid to school without a cell phone. Heck - I wasn't allowed to chew GUM in class much less mess around with a phone.
Taunting Prospects {Politics Daily}
Oct 9th 2008 4:10PM Consider the essential difference between a maverick (one who prides themselves on doing things his or her own way) and a leader (one who guides and supports a group effort toward common goals) and decide where you stand as an American.
Women barred from men's dining room at private golf club {Gadling}
Jun 30th 2008 11:40AM This club has at least one regular dining room where men and women sit down together to eat. I have not seen the layout at this particular club, but historically the men's grill in a club would be accessible from the men's locker room and the women's grill (or card room in some cases) was accessible off the ladies' locker room. Folks come out of the locker room in various states of disarray or grubbiness after a round of golf. Men can "scratch and spit" without offending anyone (not something I feel compelled to see) and woman can sit around and enjoy the club even if they wouldn't be caught dead in public looking wrung out after a round. I'm not sure why one would assume that the only business deals that go on in the club happen in the MEN's locker room.
