Feb 1st 2009 3:37PM I work for Wal-Mart and I LOVE my job. My managers and fellow associates treat me with respect. My pay is so good that I have a child in college ($28,000.00 a year) and I pay for her tuition on my pay check from Wal-Mart. NO student loans, no help from the government for me or my children and I am a SINGLE mom.
I am NOT management. I have GREAT health insurance, I pay all my bills and we have plenty to live on.
For all you Wal-Mart bashers who have something to say about the stuff made in China...well check the labels at Target and other stores...hmm most of them also say MADE IN CHINA!!! I think people are just jealous because some Wal-Mart associates make MORE money than they do.
If you don't like Wal-Mart don't shop there.

Nov 29th 2008 8:15PM I work for Wal-Mart and for those of you who say Wal-Mart does NOT pay their associates anything are so far off base it's not even funny. I am a single mother of 2 one is in college and I pay OUT OF POCKET 28 thousand a year to the college. NO I am NOT mangement and I can afford to send my child to a good college with no financial aid or loans. I work 40 hours a week and have for two years now and I need no help paying my bills, health insurance or anything else that we need to live.
Wal-Mart does profit sharing with it's associates..hey I'm due for another PROFIT SHARING CHECK in a few weeks. Does your job share it's profits with you?? Bet not.
Wal-Mart bashers are just jealous because they don't get the benefits that Wal-Mart associates get.

Aug 8th 2008 2:57PM I too have had a funny thing happen to me on a flight. We left NY for Fl. My 10 yr old and I. We brought along a portable personal cd player for my child to use on the flight with a package of brand new batteries. Okay so I'm one of those idiots that do not like to get up and down from my seat during a flight. My kid opened the batteries and only needed 3. There were 4 in the package. I had no pockets so proceeded to put the extra battery down my bra.
We had a layover at BWI and well needless to say we went out past security to make phone calls outside. Coming back in as I was going through security the alarm went off. The TSA agent asked me to move to the glass partition on the other side which I did.
They used a hand wand on me and I kept beeping. They asked me to remove the barrett in my hair and my belt which I did but I kept beeping. With that my kid yells hey mom you got a battery on you. OMG was I red. I reached into my bra and pulled out the battery to hearing everyone around me laughing their butts off. The TSA agents that had gathered around were amused. Needless to say I no longer but anything in my bra while traveling!!!

Jun 30th 2008 6:30AM I work for Wal-Mart. I make GOOD money and I am NOT in management. EVERY employee is eligable for health insurance. Our store is 18 months old and is a super center. Our town has benefited from Wal-Mart. We have NEW STORES opening all the time since Wal-Mart has come here. People come from all over to shop at our store....some come from an hour or more away and when we as associates ask them why they says because your store is the cleaniest friedliest around and the prices for food and general merchandise are the lowest around.
I am a single parent and make more than enough money to support my children on my own with no help from the government. We all have health insurance from Wal-Mart. We have plenty of $$$ after the bills are paid for extra's like amusement parks, vacations, movies, etc. etc.
Don't be jealous...get a job at Wal-Mart and you too can be happy!!!
