Bad Flight Saved By Airline Crew, New Laws, Amiable Travelers {Gadling}

Aug 2nd 2012 7:26AM Perhaps you shouldn't skip the Latin. It would remind you that while "AM: stands for "ante meridiwem" or "before noon", "PM" stands for "post meridiem" or "after noon".

Warren Buffett: Buy Affordable Home, Not Your Dream Home {AOL Real Estate}

Mar 3rd 2011 9:31PM Mr Buffet is being a little disengenuous here.
$31,800 was a LOT to pay for a house in 1958 when he bought it and you couldn't buy a similar house today for three to four times that amount.

Nader Targets Pre-2003 Jeep Grand Cherokees as 'Modern Day Pintos' {WalletPop}

Jan 28th 2011 7:19AM Nader is strugling to remain relevant.
I owned a 97 Grand Cherokee and I was hit from behind.
The responding officer's question to me was "Where exactly did he hit you?"

Justin Marchese Defers Baseball Dream, Goes to 'Hell and Back' for Country {Fanhouse Main}

Apr 30th 2010 1:20PM The late James Michener probably summed it up best in his novel, The Bridges at Toko-Ri: "Why is America lucky enough to have such men?... Where do we get such men?"

Video: Chris Matthews Calls West Point 'Enemy Camp' {Politics Daily}

Dec 2nd 2009 11:11AM Chris Matthews needs to apologize publicly and often to the men and women of the United States' armed forces and the the people of the United States as a whole. By his insulting comments he has not only demonstrated his complete ignorance of what it means to be in the American military, he ahs also demonstrated his complete contempt for the intelligence of his audience.

John McCain's Campaign Staffers Unload on Sarah Palin {Politics Daily}

Jun 30th 2009 4:14PM I see McCain's staffers are still looking for a scapegoat for their multitude of screwups during the '08 campaign.
These clowns are even bigger whiners and losers than the Gore '00 crowd.

Guess Who Never Had Executive Experience? JFK {News Campus Blog}

Sep 9th 2008 11:42AM JFK is hardly an appropriate example:
-Palin is the Republican vice-presidential nominee, not presidential.
-JFK's lack of both executive and foreign policy experience showed in
his humiliation by Kruschev at the Vienna summit, the Bay of Pigs
fiasco, less that satisfactory resolution the Cuban Missile crisis,
and the deepening crisis in Vietnam. Add to that his feckless handling of Civil Rights (it took his vice-president and successor, LBJ to drag the country, kicking and screaming out of the 19th century on that issue).

Guess Who Never Had Executive Experience? JFK {News Campus Blog}

Sep 9th 2008 11:32AM Two thoughts:
-Palin is the vice presidential nominee, not presidential.
-JFK's lack of both executive and foreign policy experience showed in his humiliation by Kruschev at the Vienna summit, the Bay of Pigs fiasco, less that satisfactory resolution the Cuban Missile crisis, and the deepening crisis in Vietnam.

Nuclear Missile Launch Code Guards Found Dozing on the Job {Switched}

Jul 26th 2008 5:06PM Too bad the author didn't read all the reports on the incident or at least do a little fact checking:
- The incident occurred in a missile alert facility (MAF), not the launch capsule.
- The MAF itself is a secure and guarded area monitored and entry controlled by armed guards (not by the crew members).
- The component itself was secured in a lockbox inside the secure area.
- The four oficers involved was an off-duty crew that did not have the ability to access or launch missiles.
- At least one crew member did the right thing and remained awake.
These guys are definitely in trouble for failing to follow correct procedures to properly secure classified material, but the problem that occurred is not what this article portrays it to be.
But then, I suppose, one should never let the facts get in the way of a sensational story...
