Galley Gossip: A question about tipping flight attendants {Gadling}
Jul 21st 2008 2:41AM Cool - thanks for the tips everyone on packing and Heather thanks for putting together an article on packing light! I ALWAYS check my luggage, but right now I'm that girl with the suitcase that weighs 49.5 pounds at home, and 52 pounds and a glare at the airport. I'm trying! I want to get it down to a reasonable level and whenever I see flight attendants with their little bags on these multiple leg trips I'm a bit jealous!
Cheers!

Jul 20th 2008 11:57AM Heather:
I've often admired flight attendants ability to pack. Can you write an article on packing efficiently in small luggage? Whenever I go somewhere, it's big luggage that I lug around the airport, takes forever to pack, I get home and it sits on the floor of my closet for a week. Some tips on how the pros do it would be great!

Jul 19th 2008 12:29PM So, here's a funny story about flight attendants overnight accommodations:
My husband and I went to Montego Bay Jamaica in the spring. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, it was a corporate thing paid by his work. We're waiting outside he hotel and about fifteen women dressed in red suits covered in two-inch thick make-up came out to catch a bus. Turns out Virgin Atlantic has one weekly non-stop flight to Montego Bay, they fly in, stay at the Ritz Carlton, then fly back.
Now those are some accommodations!

Jul 16th 2008 12:26PM I don't understand people who bring these heavy bags on the plane. I don't know how many times I've seen someone try to shove them in the bin above, only nearly to drop it on the head of the person sitting below. Then we've got to wait for them to get their bags before we can disembark the plane, while they again almost drop it on someone's head.
Folks: Check your too-heavy bags!

Jun 18th 2008 7:56PM Cute column Heather!
I like your blog, I read it when I see it on Publisher's Marketplace and enjoy your pictures and articles about travel.
As an aside, I was at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA and they had pictures of the 747s with the bars down stairs and the fancy flight attendants and passengers. It made flying look like the most glamorous thing in the world. Ah, the good old days... :)
Keep up the fun articles!
