Finding the Lowest Gas Prices {Gadling}
Jun 18th 2008 4:41PM I still find it amusing that people complain of the high gas prices, but still spend $10 of their lotto tickets and buy a carton of cigarettes as they stop at the convenience store to fill up.
Gas prices will continue to rise as long as Americans continue to throw money away.
Is that a police badge or just TSA? {Gadling}
Jun 18th 2008 4:33PM My concern would be how much money was spent on these badges, as opposed to who is wearing them. TSA is a security force, and they should look like professional authority figures. Most security guards reflect the job of DETERING bad people from doing things. Would you rather see them in dirty jeans and t-shirt? These badges along with a more professional appearance may deter stupid people from doing stupid things. Is that really a bad thing? If you look professional, you will be treated as such.
A badge does not make someone a cop...Anyone who knows how to read can read the badge or the patch and see that it doesn't say police. Anyone can see that they are not wearing guns...This is where common sense comes in. Proper training and hiring will help to weed out the "wanna be" cops that shouldn't be there. It's not like they are out patrolling the streets and airport property. They work in the airport checkpoints, it's not that big a deal. Let them have a little something to build morale. Maybe it'll keep us all safer, or at least make a few people feel safer.
