Nov 30th 2008 11:05PM Beijing, after having spent 3 months there this past summer I find that I am still drawn to it with as much curiosity as before. While there are still a lot of the mainstream sights left for me to see, I have the most interest in watching the culture of the new and old meld (not always with nice results). A city with an identity crisis makes for amazing experiences.

Jul 24th 2008 8:20AM If going to the Great Wall also be sure that the area you are going will allow you to climb. A lot of the non-touristy parts of the wall have been closed to foreigners during the Olympics. I just spent last weekend trying to get to some of these areas with no luck. Where it used to be a sign saying not to climb that no one observed, they have begun to put actual guards in some areas and the equivalent of a neighborhood watch in others.
