Jun 15th 2008 12:38PM I hate when people say "Americans are dumb" yet these same people are the ones who say you shouldnt generalize a whole country but just "some people". I have traveled to South America, Europe, Canada, and USA, and let me tell you dumb ignorant people can be found everywhere. There is racism in Europe, as well as in USA, as in South America, people think people are different in other places of the world, but in reality, our environments change but people will always be people. As far as Cuba - it is a beautiful place, with beautiful people and culture. Unfortunaetly the citizens are horribly stiffled by their Government, they live on $20 a month, but thankfully if you've been following news, they are becoming extrmely quickly modernized and embracing capitalism, Fidel is DEAD.
Americans arent the only people who think they should never leave their land and everywhere is shit. Ive met many Brits who feel the exact same way, and dont even get me started with the Argentine and French. Yet these same people are only hurting themselves from not traveling outside their comfort zone. So lesson learned, keep an open mind, America has a vast amount of culture and history, but so does every country in the world, from a first world to a third world nation so no one on either side should be ignorant enough to put down the people or the culture of any land, its all worthy of recognition.

Jul 12th 2006 10:00PM Taylor is cool and I am glad that he was able to do something very " unamerican idol" it shows he is diverse and that he can have a real career in the music business. Also, this is in response to the response of "tammy" - simply put, your an idiot. First of all, you cant spell and you sound like trash. Secondly, I have nothing wrong with trashy people because some I have found to be open minded, which you are not. You are also extremely misinformed from the brilliant post you wrote. "They started the war" - are you kidding, we're in Iraq, a country that has never done anything to us. Now for those who dont like Bush, I am not gonna say I am for or against him, but, everyone has the right to question authority, and saying something as ignorant as "if you dont support bush then get out of this country" is just wrong. So if I dont like the direction one dumbass is taking my country I have no right to oppose him, and perhaps in the next election put an actual good leader. Bush's approval rate is dead low at a disgusting 37%, so before you start throwing that american fanatical crap out there realize most of the country does not approve, its not that we are wrong, this is our country, and we all have the right to say who we want as our president and if we dont like that persons job, maybe you the opposing side should actually LISTEN and think about why 63% of the country dissaproves and maybe you will wise up. And just because you have family who felt the need to go to fight does not give you any clout what so ever to open your mouth against anyone, if they went thats their decision. I would never wish any harm on any soldier, most of these guys are young naive men and women who have good intentions and want to defend their country, what they dont understand is the corruption and the cruelty that goes on by our country. You dont know this because all american news censor and arent allowed to show the real news, if you ever watch international news, like international cnn and not the american version, you will actually see how our brave country steps on little defenseless ones, whom once again didnt do anything to us. Do yourself, and for anyone else reading this who fall under that type of "i love america and everyone can go to hell bush is right no matter what" get out there, research news from an un american perspective and you will see what im talking about.
