The 10 greatest sports venues {Gadling}
Apr 4th 2011 8:10PM You wonder if the old Yankee Stadium was still standing if that would be on the list.
Brett Favre Files Retirement Papers Again {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jan 17th 2011 5:28PM IF (big if) this retirement sticks, I hope that the classy thing is done. Green Bay, as an organization, should let bygones be bygones and sign him to a one-day contract so he can retire with the team who made him and vice versa.
When High School Football Trick Plays Go Wrong: Backflips and Ejections {Fanhouse Backporch}
Nov 10th 2010 6:44PM Also in Rule 9-5-1 it does say, "Examples are, but not limited to:...". And how about the Referee's "Elastic Clause" (Rule 1-1-6)?
When High School Football Trick Plays Go Wrong: Backflips and Ejections {Fanhouse Backporch}
Nov 10th 2010 6:40PM Perhaps this falls under Rule 9-5-1c: Any delayed, excessive, or prolonged act by which a player attempts to focus attention upon himself. Also, they may have considered this to be an Unfair Act (Rule 9-9-1), in which case an equitable penalty (perhaps Unsporting Behavior) is determined by the referee.
Wade Phillips Fired as Cowboys Coach {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Nov 8th 2010 3:27PM Garrett is auditioning for his next job, whether as a head coach or offensive coordinator for another team, college or pro. With or without a CBA in place, he will be leaving.
George Blanda, Oakland Raiders Legend, Dead at 83 {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Sep 27th 2010 4:09PM And you wonder why the Bears have had problems at the QB position since then (with perhaps the exception of McMahon).
Katherine Connors, Miss Iowa USA, to Throw Out First Pitch at Nationals Game {Fanhouse Backporch}
Jul 30th 2010 12:12PM Poor choice of words on Mr. Batista's part. If Miss Connor played softball when growing up, hopefully she will do a good job. PS--The Miss America and Miss Universe pageants are two completely different entities. Whichone is she representing, since both are mentioned (title and story).
Vuvuzela Ban Could Come to World Cup {Fanhouse Soccer Blog}
Jun 14th 2010 10:53AM I have seen every game on TV so far (either live or a rebroadcast). I have rarely heard the referee's whistle above the din. If something happens to a player because they can't hear it (e.g.-- a serious injury or a needless card), then perhaps a ban will take place. Besides, it is really any worse than the Swiss cowbells?
Natalie Randolph Primed to Tackle Job as Coach of H.S. Football Team {Fanhouse Main}
Jun 7th 2010 8:20PM Good for her and good on her. She has the student-athletes' priorities and best interest in heart. She is intent on making things better for the program and her charges. She is getting lots of support. This is the example of what high school sports is supposed to be: an extention of classroom to teach life skills. She is on the right path to true success.
Surprising Forwards Highlight Final US World Cup Roster {Fanhouse Soccer Blog}
May 26th 2010 11:48PM Is it just my imagination or are we going to be that inexperienced? Fourteen field players could possible make their WC debuts. And I thought this was the year which the USSF was targeting for winning the trophy. '06 was a bust; this could be just as disappointing. The team will have to play beyond what they did in the Confederations Cup to have a chance to go deep.
