Arianna Huffington in Airplane Blackberry Flap {AOL Travel News}
Jan 11th 2011 2:11PM The problem is that some people feel entitled to not obey rules, that they are so "special" that it does not apply to them. Someone should remind them that they are on a commercial flight and if they were really special, they'd be flying in a private jet. As for the irate fellow passenger - these days its better to keep cool and stay in your seat. A few mocking words about her attitude might get the message across alot better than loud protests. Sad thing is that she probably got off on all the attention.
She Won't Give The $17,500 Ring Back -- Now She Explains Why {Lemondrop}
May 17th 2010 2:51PM This man is very juvenile if he's big on competing with his brother to do things. If I'd heard that oral agreement where she pays for everything while he pays for the ring, I would've been gone in a flash. Stupid kid stuff. Sounds like he was out for a free ride and to be in control of her. No matter the outcome, get him in court and make him say it all out loud for the record. Any woman who dates him is an idiot. Put the ring beyond his reach until the matter is settled. And be very careful - if he sees that it's going against him he may get violent.
Oceania cruise ship outruns pirate ship {Gadling}
Dec 1st 2008 8:06PM During WWII there were cargo vessels outfitted with secret defenses against enemy ships that would try to take them captive. When the enemy ship drew within range, the covers would fly off and the attacker would find itself strafed by naval guns mounted on the civilian vessel and the merchant seamen firing them trained by the Navy. These "Q Boats" were very effective for the time they were used - current cargo vessels hauling oil or containers could train their crews in the use of light arms and issue the weapons once the vessel comes under attack. You don't need to take out the pirate "mother ship", you just need to make the pirates advance thru a hail of bullets they hadn't expected. It's easy plunder they want, not an early grave. Passenger liners can train the crew in small arms tactics and train a few suitable crewmen in how to operate a RPG (rocket propelled grenade) launcher. A few unpleasant encounters like that and those pirates will be back on the beach.
Numb3rs: When Worlds Collide (season finale) - VIDEO {AOL TV}
May 26th 2008 8:48PM Love the interplay between the brothers and especially the funny parts - Don trying Larry's lab ice cream by extending his tongue to the bit on his spoon and Don getting down on his knees to give Charlie an edge in their flailing horseplay - wish I'd had brothers like that. In the last episode each stood up for his viewpoint and Charlie paid the price for his.
All Don's girlfriends resemble his mother or are feminine versions of himself so I do think he has trust issues with women, probably because his mother was consumed with taking care of his genius brother and he felt ignored. They are all slim, dark haired/eyed, flatchested and pack a gun - must be like dating himself. He needs a nice moral girl, petite, buxom and full of fun who won't take squat off him. He's morose and drinks too much so she has a job ahead of her!
Love the Craftsman house - the original and also the set. It's educating everyone about how great the style is. I'd like to see them "green" the house next year.
