Opinion: My Daughter's a High-School Dropout and I'm Totally Okay With It {ParentDish}

May 28th 2010 3:40PM I'm 51 years old, retired SECURE 3 months ago from a 30 year career as a mechanic for the airlines, and a high school drop out. In fact, Captain Sully retired within days after I announced my retirement from the same airline. I believe it was because he knew I'd no longer be gracing our companies aircraft needs with my flawless abilities as a technician. And I wonder if Capt. Sully was a high school graduate?

Should We Be Worried About Our Pilots? {AOL Travel News}

May 28th 2010 8:18AM The FAA will continue to bow to the irresponsible wants and fool-hearted decisions of corporate airline idiots. Even your freaking unions are pocketing large sums of cha-ching for NOT standing up to corporate greed and making airline employees struggle for a way of life. ALL OF YOU have the power to shut down the bastards and put aviation back to where it once was and should be today! And quit whining & crying about where your "base" is, where your "home" is and your miserable pay. YOU chose the career and YOU chose the crap carrier you work for! Too far to dead head? MOVE! Not enough PAY? QUIT...FOR CRYING OUT THE WINDOW! If you're flying you are living a dream AND NOT REALITY!!! The lucrative life of an airline worker ended with the deregulation of the airlines in the early 80's. And simply put, airline workers, from the pretty boys and girls working inside the aircraft to those "under-the-wing" have learned and excepted the fact THEY MUST...like ever other hard working America...eat sh_t for the remainder of their respective careers!

Passengers stranded 9 hours on plane {Gadling}

Dec 13th 2008 7:59PM I know for a FACT that this very aircraft IS CAT III Dual certified. Other aircraft were indeed making CAT III approaches to LAX AT THAT TIME. Was the CAT "busted" totally on this aircraft OR was the illustrious 3rd world crew NOT CAT certified? Think about that folks before choosing your next flight into the abyss of Central/South America.

If you're in the military you can drive a van onto a runway. At least at Sea-Tac. {Gadling}

May 22nd 2008 4:21PM Would have like aforementioned general tried that at MCO. The airport authority has got the biggests "you know what" than any other civilian airport I've seen...as an "under-the-wing-worker." Military or not Sir General, you'd been a nickel short of "stripped searched" than been allowed to "splain" what the heck you were up to.

And we thought the golden retriever sized raccoons and TSA were a problem at MCO!

Plane Answers: Takeoff speeds, weights and lavatory drains {Gadling}

May 21st 2008 2:06AM Sorry fellers...Not a lavatory/galley drain in action but indeed a fuel purge or surge valve doing it's natural act from an APU.

Hope i didn't ruin anyones day...
