Galley Gossip: 5 reasons flight attendants don't serve first class predeparture beverages {Gadling}

Oct 15th 2010 4:45AM why is it when a flight attendant happens to voice his/her opinion about....whatever...it is always viewed as "FA hate their jobs, get a different one" attitude - seriously people? I love my job, like any other job - people piss you off sometime and so we vent - don't want to read about FA venting - here's an idea - READ DIFFERENT BLOG!!

Galley Gossip: 5 tips for traveling with a wedding dress {Gadling}

Jul 22nd 2010 3:37PM Leslie - you would make both reservations in your name - passengers of larger size that feel more comfortable with 2 seats, that's how they book their duplicate seating. So you'll have 2 boarding passes with your name on both - hopefully that answered your question.

Galley Gossip: The REAL reason for no cell phones in flight {Gadling}

Jul 22nd 2010 3:24PM you can, once you have reached 10,000 ft - as a flight attendant I would like to have your attention incase we encounter an accident upon taxi, takeoff & landing. surely you can spare the 5 mins it takes to to climb to 10k feet.

Galley Gossip: Goodies for the crew {Gadling}

May 29th 2010 2:56PM Anything that is pre-packaged is a good idea. Chocolate is always a winner! At our airline we are discouraged from accepting anything that is "home made" from passengers - and I'm sure you san imagine why. But OMG the thought of a passenger wanting to do something nice for us! The thought alone makes my day! When our UMs draw us pics we keep them forever - I had a guy made me a rose from one of the napkins I served his drink on - this was about 3 yrs ago - I still have it use it as a book mark. My husband of 18yrs thought it was cute so I get to keep it :o)

Also Heather the eye contact comment is awesome! Recently I had to bring it to the attention of a couple passengers, that we did speak to them & it at least warrant some type of response, I'll even take a grunt or a nod. What I hate is the same people will write a letter to our company & say their flight attendants did not acknowledge them. But still that's a small few - for every 150 passengers we may have 1-3 that is downright rude! The majority will acknowledge ya.

Galley Gossip: Do flight attendants hang out with pilots on layovers? {Gadling}

May 29th 2010 2:33PM frugal bunch - ain't that the truth :o) I think I have the biggest lunch box you've ever seen. Thermos of all sizes & shapes! With my airline, we'll hangout with the crew for a quick bite, but you are right Frank96, we girls don't mind the short break from home, paying bills, cooking, etc.

Galley Gossip: Flight attendant is sent to prison for sexy texting {Gadling}

Mar 20th 2010 2:52PM OMG! Frank I thought I was the only one offended by that comment - I told this guy once that that was the last thing I needed to hear - or how about this one, "Is the pilot sober enough to fly?" Really?

Galley Gossip: Frequent flier pet peeve - rude flight attendants {Gadling}

Aug 18th 2009 4:48PM Frank - if you were here I would kiss you - you summed up all my thoughts in your post. I too have met far more great passengers than rude ones. I have met the ones who by far inspire & educate. The rude ones, well we share our stories at the end of the night & start it all over again the next morning. I find that passengers that do not get what they want are usually the ones that have a terrible attitudes - and like children, will not speak to you when you say g'bye at the end of the flight - I'm thinking grow up will ya! Some of the request that passengers often have of us are not only unreasonable, but they will also break the FAA laws - like you I state my answer & walk away because it ALWAYS lead to a debate! Know this John Public your flying experience is what you make it.

Galley Gossip: Attention Sharon Stone, GIVE ME THAT BAG! {Gadling}

Jul 16th 2009 2:36PM "That certain reverend" is pretty "special" - never had him on one of my flights & hope I NEVER do - idiots & rude people come in all shapes, color & sizes. As an African American let me tell you he DOES NOT represent us as a people - the media likes him & vice versa - sad but true. You can always tell a person's personality based on how they treat service people...

Galley Gossip: Attention Sharon Stone, GIVE ME THAT BAG! {Gadling}

Jul 16th 2009 2:29PM Frank96 - I agree 100% - it's not worth the hassle of having angry passengers telling you "I brought this bag here, why is too big on the way back?" And that's only because the last flight attendants didn't see it or simply overlooked it. I'm tired of being viewed as the bad guy - if the rule is in place then it is what it is!! Head back to the ticket counter & check the bag
