3 men, 1 van and 48 states in less than 120 hours {Gadling}

May 9th 2008 11:22AM Actually, they aren't really breaking the speed limits by very much if they do. I, and a friend from New Hampshire, just drove from school in Portales, New Mexico to Greensburg, Pennsylvania, hitting 9 states in 25 hours. When we stopped for gas, which was only $180 the whole way in an '08 Hyundai Elantra, we would switch drivers and sleep occassionally while the other drove. That way we were rested, wasted no time, and we had fun. And by no means were we the ones going the fastest; we were passed on the interstate all the time. I loved the drive and would do it again in a heartbeat!
