White, Black, Asian, Jewish, Native American, I do not care... racism takes all forms, colors, sizes, shapes, religion, ethnicity, etc... Either you see beyond it, or you do not. Fairness and honesty belongs to all people. Either you are fair and honest, or you are not. It truly is that simple...

Nov 22nd 2009 3:16AM The image IS demeaning, and the added "no wa" makes it worse. I can not stand racists of any color. The teacher did not even address the child that said "is that your Dad"? It is deplorable. The Mom asked her son why he did not leave... He said "Mom there are rules, it is school". Sounds like a good boy to me... Sounds like what my son would say... You racists screw up everything for everyone else. Why not get an education instead of being jealous of a little boy? This is a case of at very least stupidity...probably racism. White children do not have a right to think they are better, they are not. They are the same...

Nov 22nd 2009 2:54AM No way this Mother is racist. This is horrible. I am white, and if this happened to my boy, I would have spent the weekend crying as well. Mr Curran is a lazy man, and an ass. He should stop getting his assignments from the internet.
I call it like I see it. If she wants to involve the ACLU, I will support her. She is right. Poor child... Poor Mom. Life is hard enough, we all hurt when our children hurt!

I mean seriously, is it supposed to be a comparison? Poor little girl dies, on a more important note...famous child trips... Nov 19th 2009 6:06PM I do not think this is just a matter of " being born with a silver spoon in your mouth". Imagine having a narsaccistic, absentee mother, a demure, repressed father, a couple of druggy stepfathers, etc, etc.
I love Cher as a performer, but she is not my Mom. Incidentally, both of her children have "gender issues". Her son is also Gay. Cher is basically made out of plastic. Nothing about her is real. She is larger than life. Who could live up to that? Who would want to? I fear that I would reject what she portrays as a woman too...

Nov 19th 2009 5:45PM Again, I am not stating what my opinion is here. I do not believe it is the point of this article. However, it seems that many people have gender confused with genetalia. "Between you legs" ( how vulgar) is genetalia. Behavior according to social norms is gender. Perhaps if there were not so many stereotypes that people were expected to achieve, many people would not find themselves "gender confused".
At last, we must all fit neatly into our described role. That way we can fit into the box. Ok, I chamged my mind, I do not agree with this, however, I think society and upbringing can really screw people up. Would any of you want to be Cher's child? I sure would not.

Nov 19th 2009 5:13PM Actually, according to the dictionary, this is the definition for gender: the behavioral, cultural, or psychological traits typically associated with one sex. So in that matter Cher's child is correct.
Whether or not I agree is not a public matter, as this would not be, if not for the name Bono...
