Dec 17th 2011 7:27AM HOA should be restricted by state laws, I bought a couple acres of lake front property, Before I knew it the HOA, started telling me the size house, how it should look, the paint to use, were I could put my drty dish and if it didn't pickup a signal to bad, the type of bushes, etc. I sold the property and the fella who bought wishes he hadn't done so, he now has it up for sale. I would suggest to anyone who is thinking about moving into this type of housing read the small print, because you will have to pay a monthly fee for living there, the one I was going to build in was 2500.00 a year so the community elected spouse can recieve a salary of 120,000.00 a year just for checking and making sure you are in compliance....really, it's a rip off, I hope the kids playhouse remains, and they can tell HOA to stick it.

Oct 26th 2011 3:40AM Nostalgia, Yep I think about the swimming holes we all use gather at in Hopewell Va. Crystal Lake,The hotdogs and fries, listening to the PA play music basking in the warmth of the sun, All gone drained by the city,...now..Gone.. I remember before the vidoes games hanging out at drive in on a warm spring evening after a long cold winter, with friends after helping my Dad plant crops for the summer, Back yard BBQ's friends and family dropping by for good fellowship. Being able to ride my bike and never had to worry about some wacko wanting to hurt kids, the streets were safe then..gone...In 69 as a kid watched as Neal took the first step on Moon for all mankind..Now Gone..Space program..shutdown by a bankrupt country, I remember better days and I remember the bad also as a kid didn't understand it, I remember J.F. Kennedy's funeral and later Bobby Kenndy and stil the senseless killing of Martin Luther King..Gone...But I believe in God and I believe in this Country, I think those intend to hurt this Country will one day reap what they have sown, Love your Family, Teach your kids to respect, Men be fathers to your children. and don't listen to the media their is no truth anymore.

Dec 30th 2009 11:32PM This is my personal point now' that I would like to make. I believe in America and I believe in the American People. I have no doubt that we will come out of this crap hole our government has put us into, I believe each one of us has that spirit in us to overcome the problems we are facing in this country today. If I may, I read an article today that disturbed me greatly how our current government has now put our boys in grave danger in Afiganstan, they can no longer call for air support even if it means their deaths due to the taliban holding up and using civilian people as a shield while they attack and kill our Son's, This is a standing order from Gen. McChristy given to him by our current administration. War is not pretty and shouldn't be horrors of it is what ends it not being nice. But America let's for once think of us as a whole and no longer used by a government that seeks to devide us while in the meantime they are taking what is yours. I see America everyday in the faces of people I meet I see the determination in each of you to provide for yourfamily's and know what you feel when you buy to support your children you make do with what you have and don't complain all the while your hard earned income is robbed from us by a massive tax burden and a government on a spending spree and bribing each other with money just a vote that you and me and our future generations will suffer for. I believe America and I believe in each and everyone of you, fight for waht is yours and expect no handouts our grand parents understood this and yes' we to can the same. Americans are not fools as they would think we are, We are fedup with the lies they spew at us. We as Americans are seeing what the past presidents have to this country Bill Clinton sold us out as a country for Nafta and sent our job base o'seas and for that he should be tried for treason. George Bush who gave us the American patriot act gave us a police state and further robbed each of us our civil liberties, our God Given American Right! he too should be tried on treason charges. and last but not least Ali Obama and his Den of sixty theives, who since his election to this country has caused more harm to this country than any President in our American history. Who has enslaved our children's children to a massive debt that we may not recover from, and has given rights, "rights" to murdering terriost who have or are responsible for the deaths of our fellow Americans, Obama more dam concerned that they have their maranda rights read to them and tried in our courts he has made us a laughing stock of all the world. Obama, to should face treason charges for aiding and abeding terriost and for swearing to an oath to the U.N. as President which is a treasonous act. I know George Washington,Ben Franklin,Thomas Paine,etc. would be mortified to see what we have let happened to this country that they fought so hard to give our generations forever, only to be robbed from us by the laws they keep throwing at us and chipping away from the very foundation and freedoms for which they have given us and our ancester's fought and died for. So yeah I would have to agree with the dude or dudett who wrote this article yeah we were sold out. Dec 4th 2009 10:05PM Recently I have read two stories of young lives, who by fate life has touched rather harshly one who wishes for X-mass cards as his final wish. and now this story of a fine young man with lots of courage. But not just that but to see humanity at work and reading the bloggs people left here. I like to thank ESPN for the story, and all those college players and coaches for taking the time. But mostly you people with your kind statements, I do believe and would like to thanks for a wonderful x-mass knowing their stil good caring people out their, and to you jake have a wonderful x-mass and good luck to your football team and to that young man who won't be here next x-mass God has blessed you and to all you out their have a safe and wonderful Christmass.........R.B.
