The Scare of Her Life: How Angelique Faced Heart Failure {MyDaily}
Feb 10th 2011 8:37AM Interesting- In Nov I had unbeliebable back spasms that traveled from left hip to right shoulder. Never any heart pain, but the spasms left me gasping for air. I kept trying to make the doctor understand how bad it was but he thought it was just spasms. I think it was a heart attack (my version). A month later, I died in the emergency room, but it was bleeding ulcers that finally brought me there. 6 days in hospital, many units of blood. as they brought me back to life. Unfortunately, now everything is wrong with my heart which had been OK, just a murmur before but a case of "we know about it and we will watch." Trouble is somone forgot to watch as my problem was one that came and went accoring to what was happening. I'm not sure I will go through with open heart, at 74 and from a short lived family I have to think about it.
Tina Knowles on Miss Tina Line at Walmart and the Importance of Plus-Size Clothing {Stylelist (Main)}
Oct 11th 2010 1:53PM I'm not obese but I am a large plus size woman - almost 6 feet and proportioned to match. Usually I take a plus size just because of my height and measurements. Plus sizes are getting harder and harder to find except online and you never know what you are getting online. I recently bought clothing from Woman Within. When the package arrived, the shoes were the wrong size but also they were both for the right foot; a dark navy sweater was not sent, instead that sent a turquoise dress; 2 pair of ponte pants, 1 navy, 1 black. The navy fell off and the black was too tight, supposedly the same pants. So everything had to go back and I'm still waiting for replacemtns. At least Wal Mart is trying. I may not buy but I will look and try on before deciding.
Two Cents on Tipping: Who, When and How Much {AOL Jobs}
Sep 2nd 2010 8:54PM Two tipping questions - just how do you get a tip to the trash man who does such a good job but is gone before dawn? Also I've just reached the age where I need a wheel chair in airports. How to figure a tip for these people???
Find the Best Cat for You Based On Your Personality Type {Pawnation OLD}
Aug 30th 2010 3:18PM Many years ago we were given a snooty little Siamese who bossed us around until she died - we adored her. Then a friend gave us the loves of our cat lives, two gorgeous, golden eyed Burmes. In many ways like the Siamese but much more mild tempered, neve hissed at anyone and just asked to be loved. They were wonderful with our grandchildren, letting them wool them unmercifully. We haven't had cats in our old age but if we ever do again, it will be a Burmese.

Second Mel Gibson Phone Call Released, More Racist Rants Ensue {PopEater}
Jul 13th 2010 11:24AM Here's the old lady again. Has it occured to anyone that Mel might be losing his marbles? Or was he always a woman hating racist pig and just hid it all hese years? I think he needs some help, mentally. Or another idea - He was married to Robin for 30 years and then quit. Maybe he has lived to regret that and doesn't know what to do about it. He had a million dollor baby and threw her away for a 10 cent piece of trash.
10 Destinations NOT to Visit {AOL Travel News}
Jul 9th 2010 7:30AM Please add Natural Bridge, Virginia. In my youth it was a wonderful place to visit and realize Washington surveyed this spot, not to mention it's beauty. Now they have fenced it off so you have to pay to see something that was meant to be free. Shame on you Virginia.
My second place would be Mt Rushmore. Granted it took years of work and skill to build it, but in so doing they destroyed a lovely and unusual spot. Now you get to see four ugly men who will one day look like little gnomes because of natural erosion. Why?
Ryanair pushing ahead with $6 standing room only seats and paid bathrooms {Gadling}
Jul 4th 2010 9:29PM No, I wouldn't pay $6.00 to stand; however the last time I flew I paid $500 for round trip first class. At the time I though there needs to be a class between first and coach. Coach at the time was $180 round trip. Due to a knee injury I cannot stay cramped up for very long without being in agony. I do not need nor use most of the extras you get with first class but my knee needs guaranteed extra space. I would gladly pay extra for seat with a little more leg room.
What's In for Summer 2010! {Shopping Articles Blog}
Jun 27th 2010 11:44PM About 50 years ago I came home from work and took off my body shaper (called a girdle). It felt so good to be free at last that I swore I would never wear another such garment again. I'm now 73 and I have kept that vow. I am what I am, so take what you see, jiggle and all. If you want to wear a shaper be my guest, but not me. They are torture.
Fit Buzz: What's the Worst Diet You've Ever Tried? {That's Fit}
Jun 21st 2010 8:11AM I'm old so I've tried a lot of diets but I think maybe Medifast was the worst. It got my diabetes under control but I didn't lose weight. Before going on the diet I had already lost that magic 20 lbs of water that you usually lose at the beginning of a diet, so there was no magic loss for me. Three months & 5 lbs was it (and yes, I stuck to it). Very expensive, tasteless food, lots of liquid drinks, lots of water, etc.Had to buy the food no matter what & they seemed more interested in food sales than helping me diet. So after I quit, the food kept coming until I managed to make them understand I was their failure. --BUT. over a year later I looked at those 3 boxes of expesive food and devised the diet that is working for me. Sometimes Medifast, sometimes Healthy Choice, sometimes my own cooking. Doctor the Medifast up with seasonings, mix the drinks with flavored diet drink (I used Kool-aid), salsa added to the soups & also a small piece of cheese helped turn them into pretty good stuff. I think salsa would make dirt taste good. Anyway, 5 months later, I've lost 25 lbs and have no desire to quit. Oh Yes, once in awhile I don't diet at all but the next day I'm right back on my plan. It's the first diet that has ever really worked.
